A large part of our (Real Kinetic's) business is helping organizations implement platform engineering, but we've found the existing tooling to be lacking. For IaC, Terraform state becomes a pain because TF treats infrastructure as "one-shot" commands. Manipulating monetary amounts is a common computing chore. However, no mainstream language has a first-class data type for representing money, it’s up to programmers to code abstractions for it. This isn’t an issue per se until dealing with rounding issues from operations like installment payments (e.g., buy now, pay later), foreign exchange, or even simple things like fee processing and tax collection. Inspired by my days at N26 Brasil dealing with these challenges, I introduce Money: a Kotlin library that makes monetary calculations and allocations easy.

Backend APIs often grow into large orchestration classes full of duplicated calls and manual concurrency. I’ve been working on Mosaic, a Kotlin framework that composes responses out of small, request-scoped “tiles.” Each tile runs once per request, dependencies resolve automatically, and independent tiles execute in parallel without boilerplate. It’s still early (v0.2.0), but working today for caching, concurrency, and testability. Curious to hear feedback on the approach. I built tinykv because I kept reaching for simple persistent storage in Rust projects but found existing solutions either too complex (sled) or unmaintained (pickledb). tinykv focuses on simplicity: JSON-based, serde-powered, with optional TTL.
