We'd love to share our work with you: Restate, a system for workflows-as-code (durable execution). With SDKs in JS/Java/Kotlin and a lightweight runtime built in Rust/Tokio. https://github.com/restatedev/ https://restate.dev/ It is free and open, SDKs are MIT-licensed, runtime permissive BSL (basically just the minimal Amazon defense). We worked on that for a bit over a year. A few points I think are worth mentioning: - Restate's runtime is a single binary, self-contained, no dependencies aside from a durable disk. It contains basically a…

I've been building a web UI library for a side project of mine. I thought it might be useful to others, so I'm releasing it as open source. To put it simply, I realized that most of my pain points with React come from its declarative model ui=f(state). So I'm trying something that I'm calling "imperative JSX." Instead of treating JSX as the source of truth for your UI, it essentially becomes a query interface for DOM manipulation. I first had the idea for it a few months ago, and only began writing it in earnest last week, so it's extremely early and nowhere near production-ready. Still, I'd…

TL;DR- Libninja will generate world-class client libraries for you, without you needing to fiddle with openapi-generator, maintain build pipelines, and so forth. If you just want Rust, reach out, and I'll create your client library at no cost, because I want to help Rust's ecosystem grow. -- Hi HN, I got into Rust in a big way about 9 months ago. While the language is quickly maturing, one large gap in the ecosystem is immature or non-existent client libraries for common API services like Plaid, Stripe, Twilio, Github, Slack, and so on. The existing openapi-generator templates create Rust…

Backend APIs often grow into large orchestration classes full of duplicated calls and manual concurrency. I’ve been working on Mosaic, a Kotlin framework that composes responses out of small, request-scoped “tiles.” Each tile runs once per request, dependencies resolve automatically, and independent tiles execute in parallel without boilerplate. It’s still early (v0.2.0), but working today for caching, concurrency, and testability. Curious to hear feedback on the approach. We’re building an open-source language layer on top of Go, designed specifically for COBOL-style workloads: Native decimal arithmetic (COBOL-accurate) Record structures and copybook compatibility Batch jobs and transactional orchestration as first-class constructs Sequential / indexed file I/O baked into the runtime Compiles through Go for speed, concurrency, and cloud deployability Think of it as Kotlin for COBOL, or “COBOL on Go” familiar to mainframe engineers, powerful for modern developers. Test Results so far: NIST COBOL-85 validation: 77.61% overall (305/393 tests) NC…

Hello everyone :) Recently, my team (at VirtusLab) released an experimental support for Kotlin in Pulumi. This means you can use a convenient DSL to deploy stuff to your cloud (see examples in the repository). Getting started guide should be enough for you to use this in a toy project :). This is a proof of concept, so we would really love to hear your feedback before moving on. Please have a look at the "Giving feedback" section of the README.md.
