I've made a website to easily share a LaTeX math formula. - The image is created in the browser (i.e. the LaTeX is not send to a server for rendering) - Native share dialog (share via WhatsApp etc.) - Extra keyboard buttons for symbols like "$" or "\" on mobile - Share via png or unicode Demo video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fGuTns5Nt9Q Please let me know any feedback on how to improve the website.

Hi HN, I’m the creator of Math2Tex. I was a PhD student, I spend a huge amount of my time working with LaTeX, especially when dealing with lecture notes, academic papers, and homework. I built *Math2Tex*, a lightweight tool that converts handwritten or printed academic content — especially math formulas — into LaTeX or text The Problem: I've always found it incredibly tedious to manually type out mathematical formulas, especially complex, multi-line equations from my handwritten notes or from a textbook. It's slow, boring, and I always make syntax errors. I tried some existing tools, but…

I use Detexify (https://detexify.kirelabs.org/classify.html) a bunch when writing in LaTeX, which lets you draw a symbol and gives you the LaTeX command. But it's quite slow - it takes ~2s to load the page and ~1s to classify each symbol. So I made a faster version using Rust and WASM, running entirely in browser. This cuts the classification time down to ~7ms - fast enough to run on every mouse move, giving you live predictions as you draw.

Hey everyone, I recently built a free Chrome extension called Formula to LaTeX that lets you convert any formula from an image, screenshot directly into clean LaTeX code. No signup. Just: 1. Paste or drag & drop an image of the formula 2. Get the LaTeX code instantly 3. Copy it with one click It works great for math, physics, and chemistry formulas, super helpful if you're working on problem sets, papers, or presentations and don’t want to retype complex equations. Would love any feedback! I'm still improving it, so feel free to roast it or share ideas

Hi HN, I built a small tool to make it easier to find and copy special characters, symbols, and text decorations—things like arrows, math symbols, stars, or aesthetic unicode styles (ℯ ). The idea came from frequently searching for the same symbols (like →, , or ) when writing documentation or blog posts. Most existing tools either had too many distractions or weren’t very fast to use. This tool is: • Focused on speed and minimal UI • Fully client-side (no tracking or login) • Grouped by type (arrows, currency, emoji-like, etc.) • Mobile-friendly You can check it out here:…
