Turn learning into memory with daily recall

  1. 1AT

I've been working on Recall for a while now, it had some initial traction in the beginning which has since died down now. I am facing the inevitable question of whether to continue with the project. I just put out a new release and it would be helpful to get advice from the community on what they think of the idea and my implementation.

I've been working on this tool that lets you build a personal knowledge graph from articles, blog posts, podcasts, YouTube videos, and other content you find interesting online. You can safely forget everything and trust that Recall will resurface it when something new that is related comes up. Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback on how it could be improved! The original version of Recall was posted last year nov on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33425947 Since then I have pivoted to a browser extension.

Hi HN, I watch A LOT of educational YouTube videos but wasn't forgetting a good chunk of the details because I was only really passively watching. So I made a tool that generates quiz questions/flashcards from YouTube videos, and uses spaced repetition like Anki or Duolingo to keep it in memory. Let me know if you find it cool/useful (or terrible ) or if you want to know a bit about the details!

You likely forget 90% of the content you consume within a week. I built Recall to fix this. Recall summarizes online content, connects it in a knowledge graph and resurfaces it on a schedule tailored to your learning curve helping you remember the information you care about.

Hi HN, I built an app to solve a problem I kept running into: I’d read great articles or watch insightful YouTube videos, but within a few days, I’d forget most of what I learned. Taking detailed notes felt like a chore, and I'd rarely revisit them anyway. To solve my own problem, I built Curio. It's an iOS app designed for low-effort capture and active recall. How it works: 1. Share any article or YouTube link to the app. 2. It automatically extracts key ideas as bullet points and links them back to the original context (the specific paragraph or timestamp). 3. The app then generates…

Hey all, I’ve been working on a project that aims to change how we approach learning new skills. The idea is simple — you can master any skill in 30 days using a personalized learning plan powered by AI and Notion. They keys: practice and discipline. How it works: You can fill out a Typeform, and our AI will create a customized 30-day program just for you. Structured learning: Each day, the system provides you with a clear task or lesson based on science-backed learning principles. Track progress: It’s all managed in Notion, so you can stay organized and motivated while learning. Why I built…

Tl;dr: I built an alternative iOS/macOS app to Anki/Quizlet for learning vocabulary. You can write, collect and review example sentences with which you learn words more effectively than by just reviewing their definitions. A few years ago I wanted to improve my writing. As part of the learning process, I also wanted to expand my vocabulary. I’d highlight unknown words as I was reading books, and I’d saved them to flashcard apps. I’d reviewed them daily and for a long time I thought I was making good progress: during reviews, I’d usually guess correctly the meaning of words. My…

Save All uses quizzes, notifications, and emails to stop you forgetting what you've learned. Unlike other spaced repetition apps, we've (really) prioritised making Save All as simple as possible - minimalist design, no distractions, and minimal cognitive load placed on users. We achieve this simplicity by using machine learning (e.g. large language models like BERT, GPT) to reduce the number of decisions users have to make. You don't have to decide whether you remembered a card, we know whether you did. You don't have to decide how to be quizzed on your information, we'll decide for you.…

Hi everyone! First time posting. I built this mini memory game in an attempt to beat lazy memory syndrome. because when was the last time you remembered what you did the day before purely based on memory (or without being prompted) ? Super simple fun game for giving our brains a quick workout and actually reminding it on how to remember. If you had those old Nokia phones from the early 90s, the game will seem insanely familiar to you
