Products that do what Learning Nix with LabCraft does

LabCraft is an AI-mentored learning platform. It is NOT a chatbot! Instead, it consists of course curriculum and an instrumented playground where learners can safely practice what they learn. The AI mentor observes the user's actions in the playground, and guides them towards the objective when they are stuck. This loop is iterated upon over time to improve the curriculum, the playground, and the mentor, all in service of providing to provide a better learning experience. Currently, I'm focussed on Nix/NixOS. It is a useful piece of technology with a steep learning curve, and my goal is…

Hi HN, I'm a solo developer learning to code, and I'd love to share my second real project: MapMyLearn, an AI-powered app that automatically generates personalized learning paths based on any topic you input. What it does: Takes a topic (e.g. "history of capitalism", "learn Rust", or "data storytelling") Uses AI to break it down into a structured course with modules and submodules Each submodule includes: - Detailed, pedagogical content (developed based on online sources to mitigate hallucinations) - A quiz of 10 questions - Recommended resources - An AI chatbot for Q&A - Optional audio…

Hey Hacker News, I'm Nir, cofounder of Oboe (https://oboe.fyi), which we just launched publicly. Oboe lets anyone create a course out of a single prompt to learn about any topic. We're on a mission to democratize learning. We envision a future in which AI feeds us, making us smarter, and reignites the love of learning we all seem to have lost. Each course enables a variety of learning formats, letting you learn how you want, when you want. From deep dive articles to podcasts to games to quizzes. We want courses to feel lightweight and accessible, and to encourage following rabbit…

I'm building out Kerns, as an AI environment for research. You can seed a space with a topic and multiple source documents, and complete your research completely in one space. There's interactive mindmaps for exploration, podcast mode, powerful source readers with original plus chapter level summaries that let you zoom into source on demand, a powerful chat agent that lets you control context and cite refs, and AI assisted note taking. My goal is to have one place to do research on any topic which minimizes manual context engineering, and jumping around between chat/notes/readers.…

Hello everyone. I built an AI-based toolset to help me with language learning. I wanted to be able to easily generate very specific study content and get rapid feedback on my writing. Unlike most language apps, it doesn’t actually try to teach you a language. Instead, it’s a collection of tools for people at an intermediate level who already have a learning process It’s particularly great for Anki users. There a demo video on the login page, and I set up anonymous auth for people who want to test it without creating an account. Feedback and bug reports welcome.

Hi HN! At Codevolve we've released an Alpha version of Codey, our chatbot for learning to code. Codey is designed to answer questions for beginner programmers and help them form effective programming processes. He's REALLY Alpha right now, < 250 answers to questions, but we're trying to get as many people to ask him questions as possible so we can improve him for future students. If you have a few minutes during your lunch break, I'd really appreciate it if you stopped by to give him a try. Here are the instructions (no sign up required): 1) Go to https://www.codevolve.com 2) Click…

It's called learnfrom.co, a platform for creating, hosting and selling online courses. I started building it because I wanted to solve a problem I had with existing course platforms. I kept running into things I wanted to change, so I started building them myself. The problem: I wasn't really a software engineer. Instead, I started using AI to build the product. I'd describe what I wanted, let it write the code, test it, fix things when they broke, and repeat. That somehow turned into a real product. LearnFrom is now used by 100+ creators and businesses, with real students and real payments…

Hey HN! I'm excited to share Genschool (https://genschool.com), a new hands-on way to learn prompt engineering. Prompt engineering has quickly become one of the most important skills in the AI and tech industry over the last few years. As AI models grow more powerful and versatile, the ability to effectively communicate with and guide these models has become increasingly valuable. However, despite the growing demand for prompt engineering skills, the number of high-quality educational resources in this field is still pretty sparse. Many existing resources focus on theoretical…

Hi HN, We're a small team building AI tutors out of India, and as you might guess, this means we spend a ton of time writing, testing, and refining prompts for LLMs. When we started out, we were using the OpenAI playground but things became tedious when we wanted to compare responses from different models. We tried a bunch of other playgrounds but found them lacking in some features so we built our own. Quick Links: Github: https://github.com/supernova-app/ai-playground Hosted demo: http://playground.getsupernova.ai Demo video:…
