I explored an alternative way to view codebases to the typical folder/file list, showing a bird's-eye-view of its structure. https://octo.github.com/projects/repo-visualization

I’ve been in the MLOps space for ~10 years, and data is still the hardest unsolved open problem. Code is versioned using Git, data is stored somewhere else, and context often lives in a 3rd location like Slack or GDocs. This is why we built XetHub, a platform that enables teams to treat data like code, using Git. Unlike Git LFS, we don’t just store the files. We use content-defined chunking and Merkle Trees to dedupe against everything in history. This allows small changes in large files to be stored compactly. Read more here:…

GitDiagram is an open-source micro dev-tool that I made this past week Given any public GitHub repository it generates diagrams in Mermaid.js with Claude 3.5 Sonnet I extract information from the file tree and README for details and interactivity (you can click components to be taken to relevant files and directories) Also, you can replace "hub" with "diagram" in any repository URL to access its diagram I created this because I wanted to contribute to open-source projects but quickly realized their codebases are too massive for me to dig through manually, so this helps me get started I do…

I was frustrated with how bad a signal of progress through a big PR "Files viewed" was, so I made a "Lines viewed" indicator to complement it. Designed to look like a stock Github UI element - even respects light/dark theme. Runs fully locally, no API calls. Splits insertions and deletions by default, but you can also merge them into a single "lines" figure in the settings.

Hello friends, Today I'm sharing a little tool to help you explore GitHub repositories: • https://diggit.dev This project was admittedly a big dumb excuse to play with Elm and Claude Code. I published my design notes and all the chat transcripts here: • https://taylor.town/diggit-000 Please add bug reports and feature requests to the repo: • https://github.com/surprisetalk/diggit Enjoy!

After years of struggling with onboarding to new projects, I got tired of spending weeks just trying to grasp the basics of a codebase. The README rarely tells the whole story, and "just read the code" isn't practical for large repos. I built RepoIQ to create personalized learning paths through any GitHub repository. It analyzes the codebase structure, identifies key components, and creates a step-by-step guide tailored to your learning needs.

You can add any public repo, just wait a couple minutes for it to process. LMK what you think!
