Hey HN, I built Spin Lab: a browser-based interactive explainer for table-tennis spin. It visualizes topspin/backspin, spin rate, ball trajectory, bounce behavior, and why the opponent’s return reacts the way it does. I built it because spin is central to table tennis, but most explanations are either too hand-wavy or too static. Thanks Fable, we miss you

Hey everyone, OP here. Wanted to share a bit more about Hooper — I started building it with a good friend of mine six months ago. We play a lot of pickup together and were arguing about who has a better jump shot and ended up hacking together an app to settle it The way Hooper works is you can record yourself using the app and ideally a tripod (optional). The app will track everyone, whether its a solo practice, a 3v3, or a 5v5. We think there’s a lot of stuff out there for basketball drills but what we really wanted Hooper to be for is actual game play. That means, it can do things like…

I built this game to test out the MediaPipe hand-tracking API. Play brick breaker using your webcam + hand movement -- levels get progressively harder with faster speed / smaller paddle. All processing is done in real-time within your browser. This project is built using javascript, html canvas, and mediapipe hand tracking. This game is free and open source, offered under an MIT license. Github repo: https://github.com/collidingScopes/manual-brick-breaker Hope it's fun for you -- would love to hear feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Hey HN, I am Niko. I've built this 3D Dino Game In browser using tech like three.js and MoveNet (tensorflow). Basically, it's a normal 3D dinosaur game with a twist: you need to actually perform actions irl to avoid obstacles. Duck to crouch, jump to jump, raise left hand - go left, raise right hand - go right. Game is using your phone/laptop camera to track your body movements and perform in-game actions. PS. Game is 100% client side and I don't record/track/use/save any of your data Hope you find it worth playing. (better play on PC) It's a 100% FREE browser game with…

MillionBalls is a web-based simulator meant to improve your real-life game. This is targeted beginner-intermediate level players who want to learn to visualize shots better. Unlike typical pool simulators this one constrains you to the views you see as a player at a pool table rather than overhead or other unrealistic views. You'll receive immediate feedback about your aim and historical performance.

Hi HN, I made this after seeing a few similar projects on the front page. NBA API endpoints are public and there’s a pretty robust python package ( https://github.com/swar/nba_api ) that I referenced for the endpoint structure to build an sdk in go. used BubbleTea and LipGloss for styling. It was a bit tricky to test the live endpoints but I watched Friday’s Final game with this and it worked pretty well playball - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45451577 faceoff - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47826104
