Some technical context on what we ran into building this. MCP tools don't really work for financial data at scale. One tool call for five years of daily prices dumps tens of thousands of tokens into the context window. And data vendors pack dozens of tools into a single MCP server, schemas alone can eat 50k+ tokens before the agent does anything useful. So we auto-generate typed Python modules from the MCP schemas at workspace init and upload them into the sandbox. The agent just imports them like a normal library. Hey HN! We are building HarnessRouter, a canonical API for running Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, and other managed agent harnesses as your product backend. Before building HarnessRouter, I used to build our own agent harness for our products. I tried LangGraph, agent SDKs from different vendors, pydantic, LLM tool use / function call, and so on. As I started to use Claude Code to do more random tasks I realized I could basically build any CLI tool and it would use it. So I built one that controls the browser and open-sourced it. It should work with Codex or any other CLI-based agent! I have a long term idea where the models are all local and then the tool is privacy preserving because it's easy to remove PII from text, but I'd definitely not recommend using this for anything important just yet. Gigacode is an experimental, just-for-fun project that makes OpenCode's TUI + web + SDK work with Claude Code, Codex, and Amp. It's not a fork of OpenCode. Instead, it implements the OpenCode protocol and just runs `opencode attach` to the server that converts API calls to the underlying agents. Hey HN, There’s been a lot of interest recently in meta-harnesses, loops, and multi-agent orchestration. Obviously, there are already a lot of good tools: Conductor, cmux, the native Codex / Claude Code apps, etc. For my own use cases, I’ve felt that the orchestration layer tends to feel overengineered.
