Hey everyone, I recently built a free Chrome extension called Formula to LaTeX that lets you convert any formula from an image, screenshot directly into clean LaTeX code. No signup. Just: 1. Paste or drag & drop an image of the formula 2. Get the LaTeX code instantly 3. Copy it with one click It works great for math, physics, and chemistry formulas, super helpful if you're working on problem sets, papers, or presentations and don’t want to retype complex equations. Would love any feedback! I'm still improving it, so feel free to roast it or share ideas

https://github.com/siraben/ti84-forth Hi HN! For the past year I've been getting into programming in Z80 assembly (especially for the TI-84+). More recently I've been learning about the Forth programming language and after a lot of searching online (in vain) for a Forth interpreter for the TI-84, I decided to write one myself. It's been fun demoing this to others, because it's a very unexpected use of a calculator. It's my largest project to date, and I'm interested to know what the HN community thinks, please feel free to critique my code! -- Ben

Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere. So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes. It's pretty early days, but give it a try? Would love to hear what you think, or if you find places it breaks!

I wrote my own lightweight markup language, similar to Markdown, that compiles to both HTML5 and LaTeX, supports LaTeX equations (through svgtex, i.e. serverside MathJax), references, captioned figures with semantically correct tag in html, syntax highlighted code blocks, and so on. http://www.dllu.net/programming/dllup/ See the text file written in dllup markup language: http://www.dllu.net/programming/dllup/index.dllu and the PDF and LaTeX versions: http://www.dllu.net/programming/dllup/index.pdf…

Hi HN! We just shipped the public beta of the hosted version of Mathesar, our open source “intuitive spreadsheet UI, full PostgreSQL power” project. Until now, using Mathesar meant installing and running it yourself. Now you can use Mathesar for free without having to maintain your own infrastructure at https://mathesar.cloud. Mathesar Cloud is run by the Mathesar maintainers through the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that already maintains the open source project. We’re committed to ALWAYS keeping Mathesar 100% open source (no open core), nonprofit, and treat self-hosting as a first-class…

Hey everyone, I was doing some tests with Gaussian Blur and the 2D Gaussian formula. While writing code for the formulas (I'm just trying to learn new things, that's all), I wanted to see LaTeX formulas in my IDE as images or in any convenient way. However, I couldn't find any proper method, such as writing LaTeX as a comment and seeing them as images, etc. So, I started to create my 2-step project: a LaTeX-to-image website & plugin for my IDE. I've completed the first step of this project. I've created a website called https://pictotex.com/ I didn't return to this project due…
