Hi, I'm Ritinkar and I'm building metadocs, which is kind of like reddit built into every documentation ever. It's a chrome extension that allows discussion on any webpage to happen there itself. Currently I have built threaded comments, and a upvote/downvote system. Plus I've built this cool feature called Highlights, which lets you discuss specific lines in any documentation. As well as a feature called Top Hightlights, which shows the most interesting hightlights on any webpage. Hope you guys will try it out. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask me here. Thanks.

Felt annoyed with Google Docs' "suggestions", and built an alternative that has git-style branch & merge for better collaboration. We're implementing OT via full-stack Clojure/Script, which was incredibly useful for code-reuse across client and server.

Hey HN, my wife and I ran a software development agency for 8 years, and sold it recently to work on some products related to our experience, and Userdoc is our first product :) Userdoc is a requirements management tool with AI assistance, allowing you to easily create user stories, personas, and user journeys with AI assistance. We found managing requirements (especially on large systems) was quite tricky, so Userdoc acts as the source of truth for your software requirements, and integrates with your project management tools to sync your stories, but keep them centrally in Userdoc as living…

I built the desktop app that detects and redacts personal data (or PII) locally without sending any text to server. It supports rule-based filtering and AI model-based redaction (eg openai privacy filter). It's open source and free. Please check out the repo and https://pii-gui.vercel.app/

Hi HN, I’m one of the maintainers of Bridge Anonymization. We built this because the existing solutions for translating sensitive user content are insufficient for many of our privacy-concious clients (Governments, Banks, Healthcare, etc.). We couldn't send PII to third-party APIs, but standard redaction destroyed the translation quality. If you scrub "John" to "[PERSON]", the translation engine loses gender context (often defaulting to masculine), which breaks grammatical agreement in languages like French or German. So we built a reversible, local-first pipeline for Node.js/Bun. Here…

I built Rudoc because I wanted a smaller tool for simple file convertion workflow. (Pandoc was so heavy for me) I once wanted to try Pandoc, but after I downloaded it from GitHub, I found that it is around 70 MB. It also needed a lot of dependencies. Rudoc is not a substitue of Pandoc, it supports limited set of formats (only txt, md, html, typ, docx, pdf, pptx, xml, json) and doesn't support advanced formatting. The most common workflow is just turn a markdown file to a html. PDF generation can work without Typst, but PDF input conversion requires Typst as a backend. It has no other runtime…
