Products that do what MCP server that teaches LLMs to write production grade Postgres SQL does
For the past 10 years at Timescale (now Tiger Data), I've been been watching developers make mistakes in database design: forgetting to index foreign keys, creating case-sensitive email lookups, using arbitrary VARCHAR limits. And I've seen the pain and frustration when there is major downtime and botched migrations fixing things. AI coding could have made this better but is only making things worse. It's infuriating. So, I (along with my awesome team at Tiger Data) built an MCP server that auto-injects Postgres best practices into AI context to help. The biggest innovation: our…

I've been deeply involved in working with AI agents and large language models (LLMs) for a while now. During a recent job search, I found myself repeatedly explaining my skills and experiences to various assistants. Around the same time, I was creating content for my website to help hiring teams understand my capabilities better and make informed decisions. MCP had started to gain momentum and I saw a way to reduce my toil. So I built an MCP server that can effectively communicate my qualifications as a job candidate. This server acts as an AI-powered resume, providing an understanding of my…

We built InsForge because we wanted to use pure prompts to build a production-grade app faster. In practice, AI isn’t reliable enough when generating code or configuring backend pieces like schema, RLS, auth, or functions. Postgres MCP and Supabase MCP are a good starting point, but they felt more like API wrappers for agents than something designed to guide AI safely through backend tasks. So we built our own MCP server on top of Postgres and added a set of context-engineering tools to make prompt-driven workflows more predictable. It gradually turned into a Postgres-based BaaS. Key…

I’ve always been looking for a solution to communicate larger technical systems faster. This includes a lot of known details and a technical de-risking plan. It is clear that LLMs need that structure and are capable of digesting it well. I’ve built MCP server for guiding the Cursor IDE through the plan that comes from the LLM assisted pipeline: PRD → TRD → Project files tree → Implementation Plan 1. The whole chain comes from one end-to-end solution 2. Codebase produced is easy to navigate by the automatically managed tracebility 3. Specification updates get reflected in tasks, so the flow…

Hi HN - I'm Venkat, founder of Stayflexi (YC), CMU CS grad and Ex-Oracle Query Engine team (patents in core databases) DeepSQL started as an internal tool to stop our own databases from becoming the bottleneck they were becoming (13,000+ hotels in production). It worked well enough that we're releasing it. DeepSQL is an AI agent that operates a database the way a senior DBA and Data Engineer would 1. Fixes slow queries (we cutdown DB spend by 4x) 2. Fixes DB bloat (blocks unnecessary schema changes, in vibecoded setup) 2. BI dashboards(we removed spend on tableau, retool and appsmith) 3.…

We’re building an open-source tool that makes it easy to expose secure, LLM-optimized APIs on top of your structured data—without manually designing endpoints or worrying about compliance. AI agents and LLM-powered applications need structured access to data, but traditional APIs and databases weren’t built with AI workloads in mind. Our tool automatically generates APIs that: - Filter out PII & sensitive data to comply with GDPR, CPRA, SOC 2, and other regulations. - Provide traceability & auditing, so AI apps aren’t black boxes, and security teams stay in control. - Optimize for AI…

"Can you check if this user is on the premium plan?" "I have a support ticket on Mr.Bean, saying he cannot login... Can you have a look?" "How many subscriptions did we have today?" ... As senior SWE at Twenty.com (open source CRM), I had these quite often. Every day I needed to check something in Postgres, I had to wait 30 seconds for DBeaver to load or fight pgAdmin's UI. So I built Paul. Yes our database configuration has too many schemas (3000 schemas) for those clients, but still, it was not Postgres fault. Only the client that couldn't handle it. Paul is a native macOS app, light…

Code Index MCP is an MCP server that indexes codebases and provides search capabilities to LLMs. Supports 50+ file types with automatic indexing, regex/fuzzy search, code analysis, and real-time file monitoring. LLMs can search your entire project, find files with glob patterns, analyze code structure (functions, classes, imports), and get automatic updates when files change. Eliminates the need to manually copy files or explain project structure to overcome context limits. Built with Python using the Model Context Protocol. Uses pluggable search backends…

I’ve been building and using agents heavily lately. The Model Context Protocol ecosystem is growing insanely fast, but discovering and configuring new tools is still highly manual. Every time I needed to connect an agent to a new service, I had to browse registries, figure out the transport type, identify required env vars, and manually update "mcp.json" files. So I built MCPfinder. It aggregates servers from the official MCP registry, Glama, and Smithery (around 25,000 combined entries) into a deduplicated, ranked catalog. But the real twist is the DX: MCPfinder is itself an MCP server :D…

We built a no/low-code tool that lets you spin up MCPs from a single prompt. MCPs give LLMs access to tools, data, and actions—but they’re hard to build and deploy. Our tool abstracts that: describe what you want, and it auto-generates and hosts the necessary components. No UI flows, no manual chaining—just prompt and go. Examples: • Pull email, parse a DocSend, check Reddit, draft reply • Extract data from a niche site + send a Slack alert • Combine tools without writing glue code Live demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uCiaQrgfoE Built over a weekend after getting…
