Products that do what Metriport – Customizable personal analytics tool for health, and more does
Hello HN! We're a new startup out of Vancouver, BC, Canada consisting of 2 people. We've spent the past 3 months building our product from the ground-up using Flutter/Dart, and are finally ready to start sharing it with the world! The idea to build Metriport was mainly driven by our own need for such a tool. There were a bunch of existing apps for journaling, habit tracking, water intake, health device integration, spending tracking, etc, but nothing that met our requirements: • Everything in one app: nothing would let us track whatever thing we could think of, with the data…

Hey HN, we’re Colin and Dima, founders of Metriport (https://metriport.com/). We help digital health companies access and manage user health and medical data, through an open-source and universal API. Today we're launching our open-source Health Devices API, which allows companies to gain access to their users’ health data from various wearables, RPM devices, and mHealth apps. You can check out the public Github repo here: https://github.com/metriport/metriport For developers in the health data space, building integrations to various data sources is a huge…

Hey HN. Eric Seidel here (former lead of Flutter & Dart at Google, prev. YC S06). I founded Flutter and led the team for almost a decade. One of the constant questions we got was would we support code push like the web/react native: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/14330 I left Google about a year ago and set out to build a company around Flutter and decided to start with code push. It took us a year to build. We had to build a new toolchain for Dart and a custom interpreter (for store compliance). But it works! Our beta has already been used by…

Hey HN. We built an AI agent, Avid, that creates beautiful Flutter Apps, much like v0 or Lovable. The agent carefully makes UI UX considerations, generates Flutter code, and you get a preview on your browser. I've gone through lots and lots of iterations to help the agent produce beautiful results. Would love your feedback. Ability to download App files and flutter code should be ready this coming week. Have a look and let me know what you think!

I hope you are doing better today than yesterday. (TLDR in the comments; or enjoy my story :) ) Why: About 11 months ago, I launched my app for the first time on Reddit's r/lonely because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school. I wanted to reach out to people going through similar experiences by providing them with what would’ve helped me in the past. I felt this was an important mission for me and a much more rewarding one than my day job that I quit my job to work on the app full-time. It was necessary because I did not come from a programming background. I…

I love the idea of quantified self and recently decided to pull all of my data in one place. I pull all of my data from ActivityWatch, Wakatime, and Health Connect APIs :)

Hey I recently stumbled upon AppFlowy (https://github.com/AppFlowy-IO/AppFlowy), an open-source project that caught my attention. It's essentially a Notion-like workspace, but with a twist: Built with Flutter (front-end) and Rust (back-end) Fully open-source and self-hostable Focuses on data privacy and ownership What I find interesting: The tech stack choice - combining Flutter's UI capabilities with Rust's performance It's positioning as a privacy-focused alternative to Notion The potential for customization and extension due to its open-source nature

I’m the CEO of AirGradient, where we build open-source air-quality monitors. Two months ago I decided to build our first native iOS app myself. I’ve been coding on the side for ~15 years, but had never touched Swift or SwiftUI. Still, I went from empty repo to App Store approval in exactly 60 days, working on it only on the side. The app itself is a global PM2.5 map with detail views, charts, and integration with our open-source sensors -straightforward, but fully native with Swift and now live on both iOS and Android (native Kotlin version). The interesting part for me was actually not so…

This is the MVP of a web app I made to help founders start successful companies. The idea is to provide tools to assist founders, such as: - Business model development - Recommendations based on your current business context and your own role in it - Add recommendations as tasks There are more features in the works too, such as automated answering of common questions. I also want to add far more recommendations than are currently available. The tech stack is: - Flutter (front-end) - Nim (back-end) - PostgreSQL (DB) The web app's UI is actually written on the back-end in Nim, and rendered by…

Hey HN! I’m Ivan Huerta & I’m a co-founder of a software startup in El Paso, TX named Parabeac. (https://github.com/Parabeac/Parabeac-Core) We open-sourced a design to Flutter conversion tool because tools like this need the cumulative genius of the developer community. Which is why we’re here on HN hoping to receive raw feedback & introduce people to our community. The idea span out of a dev shop where we became huge advocates for Flutter & played around with producing apps with low-code tools (unsuccessful). Producing full-fledged apps without developers is a reach, but…

I've built a Flutter app. With not much prior experience (my first big development project), I somehow managed to pull this off. The whole process took about 5 months, mainly coding on weekends and late nights. The app is built upon SwissDevJobs' API and is available on both mobile platforms. The entire deployment process went smoothly. I had heard many horror stories about the App Store and its strict review procedure, but my app was accepted on the first try, so I guess there's nothing to be afraid of :) Here are some "technical" details and my observations: It wouldn't have been possible…

Hi HN, I'm the CEO at https://replay.io. We've been working on time travel debugging for web development for a while (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28539247) and more recently an AI app builder that uses that debugger to get past problems instead of spinning in circles (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43258585). We've gotten to where we can pretty easily build apps to replace business-critical SaaS tools, some of which we're now using internally: * We built our own issue tracker to keep track of all our development projects, tickets, bug…
