Hi! I build an MCP server that allows clients to play Minesweeper. It turns out that Claude is not very good at it (makes obvious mistakes, hasn't won a single game on a 9x9 board after many attempts). I am curious how I can prompt Claude to do better?

Hello HN :) For the last seven months, I've been working on building a highly performant Minecraft event server to break the PvP world record set by EVE Online (8825 players). We will have a proof-of-concept event in December and likely break the world record in January. Many of the largest streamers & YouTubers are interested, so we do not believe getting players will be challenging. I would love to talk if you think you could help us with the goal of getting this record :)

It started with drones. My co-founder and I were building a Minecraft plugin where drones had to navigate through unloaded chunks - terrain that doesn't even exist in memory yet. No existing library had any concept of it, which led to drones being stuck in non-existence. Sloppy at first, tightly coupled to Minecraft's API, we built our own. But somewhere along the way we realized: the problem wasn't Minecraft. It was how Java pathfinding is built in general - object-heavy, GC-hostile, and single-threaded by assumption. So I split the project. The core became its own thing: pure Java 8+ for…

This weekend I built a Minecraft bot for a server I play on. It uses the Agent SDK for the main loop and a bunch of custom MCP tools. Some highlights: * The bot is an active participant in the in-game chat, enabling all players to interact with it. * Tools for interacting with containers, crafting, trading with villagers and various other things. * Memory system which the agent uses to keep track of in-game events, interactions with players etc. * Screenshot tool which lets Claude use its vision modality to look around (not very useful, but fun). * Tooling for interacting with plugins…

I want to share my newest Android app with everyone on HN. CraftBox allows you to easily run a Minecraft server on your Android device. It is published in the Play Store, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tech.ula.craft... , and posted on GitHub: https://github.com/CypherpunkArmory/CraftBox I know I am late to the Minecraft scene. I am a bit old to have been part of the original craze, but I now have a son who loves the game. Now that I have played it with him, I can see the appeal. I am an open source developer and the creator of…

I spent last 6 months trying to build Simple Ops [1] to democratize website performance monitoring so anyone can use it. A year back, while I was trying to measure performance for Visa List as it became a huge content website with more than 100K pages. Also as data is changing very frequently, it's very hard to keep doing this manually. I searched on google and found that all the solutions are just uptime monitoring and nothing and none of them truly measure performance. So I decided to build one for myself. But it turns out website performance monitoring is not so simple after all and with…

After streaming over 25,000 hours and 13 TB of video from over 200 robots, 2 years of production use by over a dozen customers, 200,000 sessions, 25 minor releases, and 120 patch releases, we believe it is time to declare WebRTC Video stable. Recent improvements included in v1.0: - vastly increased robustness over poor networks (packet loss, bandwidth fluctuation), - added hardware acceleration for Intel chipsets such as HD Graphics (in addition to the existing Nvidia and RockChip support), - added local mode, allowing offline usage on local networks, - 3x less CPU usage when using software…

Hey HN! I made a completely open sourced alternative to Weights and Biases with (insert cringe) blazingly fast performance (yes we use rust and clickhouse) Weights and Biases is super unperformant, their logger blocks user code... logging should not be blocking, yet they got away with it. We do the right thing by being non blocking. Would love any thoughts / feedbacks / roasts etc
