Embedded graph memory for AI agents, mobile apps, and the browser. - project-minigraf/minigraf
Minigraf is an embedded graph database written in Rust that stores and manages relationship data for AI agents, mobile applications, and browser-based systems. It uses bi-temporal storage to track how data changes over… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Hey HN, we want to share HelixDB (https://github.com/HelixDB/helix-db/), a project a college friend and I are working on. It’s a new database that natively intertwines graph and vector types, without sacrificing performance. It’s written in Rust and our initial focus is on supporting RAG. Here’s a video runthrough: https://screen.studio/share/szgQu3yq. Why a hybrid? Vector databases are useful for similarity queries, while graph databases are useful for relationship queries. Each stores data in a way that’s best for its main type of query (e.g.…

Hi HN, I'm Emilie, I have a literature background (which explains the well-written documentation!) and I've been learning Rust and distributed systems by building minikv over the past few months. It recently got featured in Programmez! magazine: https://www.programmez.com/actualites/minikv-un-key-value-st... minikv is an open-source, distributed storage engine built for learning, experimentation, and self-hosted setups. It combines a strongly-consistent key-value database (Raft), S3-compatible object storage, and basic multi-tenancy. Features/highlights: - Raft…

GraphBit▲437We built GraphBit to solve the reliability gap in AI frameworks. It’s built on a Rust execution core with a Python layer for accessibility — deterministic orchestration, lock-free concurrency, and built-in observability. We’d love feedback from the HN community, especially from those running multi-LLM or agentic workflows at scale.

We have been using graph DBs more and more at work. I found them painful to work with locally and decided to try and build something better.

Serialization framework with some interesting numbers: 10-20x faster on nested objects than json/protobuf. Technical approach: compile-time codegen (no reflection), compact binary protocol with meta-packing, little-endian layout optimized for modern CPUs. Unique features that other fast serializers don't have: - Cross-language without IDL files (Rust ↔ Python/Java/Go) - Trait object serialization (Box) - Automatic circular reference handling - Schema evolution without coordination Happy to discuss design trade-offs. Benchmarks:…

Hey HN, My friend Sam and I were bored one weekend, and wanted to make something self-contained but still useful. We ended up with Victor [0], a vector database designed to run in the browser. It’s written in Rust, which gives us access to things like super-fast and compact serialization and deserialization, but it’s compiled to WASM and uses web-sys to interact with the browser’s JS APIs to write the database contents to disk. We worked hard on designing it in a way that makes sense for the browser. It uses the private origin file system [1] and stores the vectors in a compact format (one…

"Game" is a stretch, but I put together this repo containing a pure Rust app which uses SDL2 and compiles to WASM (and can be run in a browser). Older resources were a bit out of date and a bit too verbose for my purposes, so here's a minimal working example.

I built tinykv because I kept reaching for simple persistent storage in Rust projects but found existing solutions either too complex (sled) or unmaintained (pickledb). tinykv focuses on simplicity: JSON-based, serde-powered, with optional TTL. Perfect for CLI tools, game saves, config storage. Would appreciate any feedback from the HN community!

It all started with a conversation among friends about limitations in current multi-agent orchestration frameworks. We faced issues like limited control over agent memory and state, complicated persistence, scaling problems, and lack of type safety in Python-based tools. These challenges inspired us to try something different. The result was GraphFlow, a Rust-based lean framework for orchestrating multi-agent workflows that's simple, scalable, and robust. Its key features include: Graph-based orchestration: Easily define workflows using nodes and edges. Lean Execution Engine: A minimal and…

I've come to prefer modeling state machines with nested states, but implementing them by hand requires a large amount of error-prone boilerplate that obscures the important logic of the state machine. I found that the existing offerings in the Rust ecosystem - while inspiring - lacked a number of features that I was looking for, so I spent the last few months building moku. Feedback is welcome!

I've been working on Polign and built a small prototype around something I've been thinking about with agent memory. I have built a lightweight/stateless vector db + BM25 search which works really well with typed facts and structured queries. It uses your own S3, or GCS bucket as primary storage, and restarting a node is fairly quick.
