Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Journaling is a great practice to learn more about yourself - if done daily. I tried it multiple times and couldn't stick to it. This project is how I finally fixed it for myself. It works by eliminating my excuses. There is only one question a day that I'll answer - no time spent on "finding the perfect topic". I only need to go to the page - not find my notebook or create a new note/paragraph in another app. I only left myself a relatively small input area, less than a page in a small notebook - that way the commitment doesn't feel too big. I really enjoy the process and it has become…

I started running 5 years ago and it completely changed me. Recently, I decided to train for my first marathon and needed something more than just tracking my runs to motivate me. I noticed all the apps currently available are just trackers and route finders, but nothing has solved the problem of consistency. So I thought of combining the basic idea of the Forest app with running and created a small app for myself which would reward me with plants and trees for my runs. I am not a mobile developer but then i came across Capacitor. Since I knew Next.js and have been working with it for the…

Hi, I developed Life Tile for iPhone. It tracks your time passively and visualizes it as a Mondrian-style grid. It's a one-time purchase app with a 7-day trial. I was a user of a similar app named Life Cycle. Since the app hasn't been updated in a while, I tried to make a better app with my ideas and experiences. I used a big square timeline instead of a donut chart. And I added more useful views: tree-map, map, and list. You can use categorized activities with custom colors. The data never leaves a device. No account, No Server. It only supports data backup using iCloud. It was for privacy…

Answer the question "Before I die, I want to..." and post it to the wall. I built this as part of a journaling app I’m working on as a side project. Personally I find life goals fascinating - they're the things we think will make us feel the happiest and the most fulfilled, yet often people think they won't achieve them. I have tried to make it feel atmospheric with the goal of making you stop and think about your own life for a second.

Hi HN, I’ve always been fascinated by space and how much is happening beyond what we usually see day to day. I wanted a simple way to explore space photography and learn what I was actually looking at, without jumping between lots of different sites or long articles. So I built DailySpace, an Android app for exploring a large collection of space photos with short and clear explanations. You can browse thousands of images of galaxies, nebulae, planets, stars, black holes, Earth, and different NASA missions organized into categories or found through search. As I kept using it myself, I added…
