I built this as a personal open-source project to explore how EU AI Act requirements can be translated into concrete, inspectable technical checks. The core idea is local-first compliance: – risk classification (Articles 5–15, incl. prohibited use cases) – bias evaluation using CrowS-Pairs – automatic Annex IV–oriented PDF reports – no cloud services or external APIs (browser-based + Ollama) I’m especially interested in feedback on whether this kind of technical framing of AI regulation makes sense in real-world projects.

Built this as a toy project to understand knowledge graphs by tackling a real problem: traditional RAG fails badly on legal documents because it misses interconnections between sections. The system actually combines both approaches on every query - gets semantic matches via TF-IDF, retrieves structural relationships from Neo4j, then feeds both contexts to OpenAI for comprehensive answers. Hey HN, solo dev here. After years of frustration with how LLMs handle complex documents, especially PDFs with tables, I decided to build a solution myself. My approach uses a Markdown conversion step to preserve the table structure, which seems to work surprisingly well for chunking. This little parser is the first public piece of a much larger, privacy-focused AI platform I'm building.
