24 alternatives to Openexus – Building blocks for the internet
Hi HN! We are thrilled to share a sneak peek of https://openexus.com after months of work. You can try out the cool demos on the front page! The idea is to build a platform and community for composable building blocks where anyone can easily create, find and connect different modules to create dynamic and interactive apps, sites, dashboards, and docs. This can be done without using a single line of code. Key principles of what we are building: 1) True composability that enables infinite possibilities — Modules today are either too complex to be used only by developers (e.g. NPM…

Blocks▲448Hi HN, We just launched Blocks - an AI platform where anyone can build custom work apps and AI agents in minutes, no coding required. We’re seeing a shift in how software is built and used. With AI, software isn’t just about tracking processes anymore - it can actively help people get work done. The problem is that most teams still face 2 options: either buy off-the-shelf tools that never quite fit, or invest a lot of time and money into custom development. Neither works well. Blocks is the third option. It’s an AI-native platform where teams can create apps and AI agents for their workflows…

Embeddable▲446Hi HN, I’m a co‑founder of Embeddable AI. After struggling to add interactive AI experiences to Wix, Shopify, Webflow, WordPress sites, I built this tool to let marketers build chatbots, quizzes or assistants and embed them anywhere with a snippet. Built in React/TypeScript front end and Node.js logic engine. It loads fast and works across CMS platforms. I’d love feedback from builders and marketers on use cases, missing features, or integration ideas.

I have created an open-source alternative to Mixpanel and will explain a bit about why I decided to do this. Mixpanel is a GREAT tool and quite easy to understand (compared to GA4 and similar). I have used Mixpanel extensively for one of my React Native apps, but the last invoice was $300, which was way over my budget. I think I was paying for MTU (monthly tracked users), which was around 7000-10k users. However, a downside of Mixpanel is that it is purely a product analytics tool; you don't get any basic web analytics similar to what GA4 or Plausible offers. Therefore, I have combined the…

Hi HN! If you've ever tried to build a desktop app, you probably understand our frustrations with how challenging it is to build one and make it available on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Even with Electron, you still have to set up your own build pipelines, updating mechanisms, code-signing, deployments, and deal with cross-platform compatibility issues. We built EXT to make building cross-platform desktop software easier! Dog-fooding our own APIs, we ported 36 initial games and utilities to the EXT store (all free), and we've open-sourced all of them: https://github.com/extpkg If…

Hey, we’ve been working on an open-source project built on top of Comfy for the last few weeks. It is still very much a work in progress, but I think it is at a place where it could start to be useful. The idea is that you can turn a workflow into a web app with an easy-to-use UI. Currently, it should work with any workflows that take images and text as input and return images. We are aiming to add video support over the next few days. Feedback and contributions are more than welcome!
