Hi HN, I built a tiny tool because I couldn’t find a clean, distraction-free monthly planner that: 1. shows a clean monthly task view 2. doesn’t require an account 3. doesn’t sync or store anything online 4. works offline 5. is printable 6. and keeps a minimal, distraction-free aesthetic So I made https://printcalendar.top/ — a minimal monthly task planner. It’s intentionally simple. No logins, no integrations, no dashboards. Just a small tool for people who want structure without clutter.

I have FINALLY learned how to manage time. I know procrastination is still a huge problem at my school. Every morning I can still find people just coming home from pulling all nighters. I'm working to compile best known solutions into a smart planner. Other solutions focus more on showing what to do that helping you get stuff done. Here's what it does: Helps yoy break your work down into smaller pieces (30minutes -> 1.5hrs, our attention spans are short) Helps you estimate how long work will take (based on your past personal history) Adapts to your working habits ("John really gets a lot of…

Hey HN, I used to be the poster child "10x" engineer. I always went far beyond the job description, actively involving myself in everything and having no issue working late hours/weekends/vacations if necessary to achieve my goals. I did this because I love engineering and it brought me a lot of career success, but it wasn't until recently that I realized this was actively destroying my life and leading me to an early death. Putting work above my own life completely ruined my social life, and eventually made me so stressed and anxious that it became impossible for me to relax and…

I've just published my app and I would love to have more feedback on it. I got the idea when I was busy moving around several projects during my last semester. And I always don't know which project I should work on next. Even worse, whenever I'm busy with something, I no longer have time to "read book", "go jogging" etc. That's when I thought it would be great if there is an app that keeps track of all the tasks that you want to do and habits that you want to make. And here it is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKVr0k9Hax0…

Care to share a screenshot and the 'killer feature' of any of your personal, self-built productivity tools? eg. I made my own calendar and money-tracker last year - there are no other users, it makes no money, I have no plans to make it public, but it holds my life together :) http://i.imgur.com/h2keJDg.png GREAT BECAUSE... it tells me how much I'm going to get paid this month. Absolutely no ulterior motive here (ie. I'm not canvassing opinions for a productivity app startup or anything), just interested.

Hi HN , my partner and I were looking for easier answers to our weekend planning ritual, such as: - When is our next free weekend? - What weekend activities have we got planned? - How busy/available are we to travel / host? Especially at the start of each year, when we're trying to plan flights and/or commit to hosting friends & family visits, I struggled to find a usable overview of multiple months that wasn't cluttered with weekdays. Our social events are overwhelmingly centered around weekends and we wanted a view of the year ahead that reflected that. How about just a line…

This is my first web app, so there are bound be to be a few kinks that need to be worked out. That's why it's here, in hopes that some of the awesome people I read about on HN can take a minute to offer some criticism. http://dailydo.it/ DailyDo.it is meant to replace the canonical to-do list with a do-it list – a list of things that you will actually do. My monetization plan is based on team do-it lists, where you can see your teammates' do-it lists and assign them tasks, while keeping the individual do-it lists totally free. Please let me know if you find any bugs, what the pain points…

Hello fellow hackers! I love creating products that solve people's needs. One day, my wife asked me if I knew of any tools that could help plan a week-long company getaway. The requirements were fairly straightforward: - 14 people - A 7-day trip - Sometime in the next 6 months They weren’t concerned about choosing the exact time yet; they just needed to know which dates would work for everyone—or put another way, when does it NOT work? I searched but couldn’t find anything that met this specific need, so I decided to build it myself. The concept is simple: think of it as an inverse Doodle.…

Hey HN, I've struggled with time-blindness my whole life. ADHD means I can write 14 tasks on a to-do list and genuinely believe I'll finish them before lunch. Reality disagrees at 11 PM when everything falls apart. DayZen is my solution: your day as a 24-hour radial clock. Tasks become colored arcs. When the circle fills up, it's full. No more lying to yourself about what actually fits. Just shipped 1.4 with Focus Mode The new version adds features I've wanted since day one: Focus Mode: Full-screen timer that zooms into your current task. Distractions fade, simple controls keep you on track.…
