It is implemented by shallow embedding in a host programming language: Prela operators are regular functions in the host. The implementation follows continuation-passing style which compiles to efficient columnar execution.

    I spent the past 2 weeks making this toy programming language. I basically forked the Go scanner/parser, and changed the syntax to have functions return a single value. This enable proper Result/Option type to be used as well as propagating errors with an operator. I also wanted to have short "type inferred" anonymous functions to be able to use functions like Map/Reduce/Filter, without having to use 100 characters to specify the types.

    hi hn, today I'm open sourcing a new SQL-like query language that's built for the web. it has dedicated syntax for request, parsers, selectors, and javascript snippets... it was built on nodejs with the incredible moo lexer and nearley parser. if you're a fan of regular expressions, do I have some code to show you! the website is mostly just a few examples and a playground where you can write & run (& share!) your own queries. there's also an introductory blog post where i try but ultimately fail to justify why this should be its own language and not a library/framework. enjoy!

    xsql is an open-source Rust CLI + TUI for converting SQL schema DDL between database dialects. Instead of text-based rewrites, it parses CREATE TABLE statements into a small intermediate representation (IR), then emits equivalent SQL for the target dialect. This makes conversions safer, testable, and easier to extend. It supports single-file and recursive folder conversion, includes a no-typing interactive TUI, and recently added an experimental IR v2 with constraint support and JSON output for CI and tooling use.     We used our platform to fine-tune a tiny text-to-SQL model using distillation from DeepSeek V3. Repo has instructions for how to replicate this. This is definitely not the best-performing model like this out there! But I found it surprising we were able to get to this much out of it: stone's throw away from a teacher 1000x the size!
