Hi HN, I built Purpose Reminders (https://purposereminders.com). Our first monthly action – "Leave a positive review for a local business" – goes out June 1st (very soon!). The core idea: What if thousands of us did the same small, positive act each month? You get one email, choose to act or skip (no pressure), and then see the collective, anonymous impact. Hi HN! I made a really quick web app to help people validate their ideas. The app is a simple landing page builder, but every page includes a really simple Yes/No "Are You Interested?" poll. Every vote is recorded and tracked, and if they click yes they are brought to a page where they can submit an email. I built this app primarily for my wife, who has tried many mainstream todo-list apps (OmniFocus, Things, and Todoist come to mind) over the years with little success. Care to share a screenshot and the 'killer feature' of any of your personal, self-built productivity tools? eg. I’ve always found it funny how simple feedback widgets end up as $20–$30/month products. The tech is dead simple, infra is cheap, and most of us here could rebuild one in a weekend. So as a “principle experiment” I built my own today as a side project and priced it at 1 dollar. Just because if something is cheap to run and easy to replicate, it should be priced accordingly, and it’s also fun marketing. 1$ feedback tool. Shipped today, got the first users/moneys today, writing this post today. Side Sunday project, then back to the main product tomorrow.

I was working on validating some of my own project ideas. While trying to find how to validate my idea, I realized the process itself could be turned into a tool. A few late nights later, I had something that takes any startup idea, fetches discussions, summarizes sentiment, and gives a quick “validation score.” It’s very rough, but it works, and it’s already making me rethink a few of my own ideas. Hey HN, I was tired of writing HTML emails and one day was going through reddit specifically searching for people who hated writing HTML emails and heard a lot of complaints from solopreneurs and marketers as this is a very boring task and many marketers and solo founders have much more important tasks to take care off. As a personal need I have been working on building this over the last year.
