Products that do what QUALITY.md – open format/specification, agent skill, and CLI does
Hello all, I created QUALITY.md to help build a holistic quality evaluation process for my projects. Turns out it's also ideal for loop engineering. I'm hoping this provides a valuable contribution to the conversation around quality and craft and having AI help us in the effort. I hope to shift the mindset from a reactive/review/repair mindset to a proactive care mindset. Give it a go. I look forward to your thoughts/comments/feedback! Hi HN, I built my first project using an LLM in mid-2024. I've been excited ever since. But of course, at some point it all turns into a mess. You see, software is an intricate interwoven collection of tiny details. Good software gets many details right; and does not regress as it gains functionality. My bootstrapped startup, ApprovIQ (https://approviq.com) is trying to break into a mature market with multiple fully featured competitors. I need to get the details right: MVP quality won't sell. So I opted for Test-Driven Development, the classic red/green/refactor. Writing…

Hi HN, I built LucidShark: a local-first, open-source CLI tool that acts as a quality & security pipeline. It can be used to increase the confidence in AI-generated (or AI-assisted) code. - Config lives as code in version-controlled lucidshark.yml - 100% local; no cloud, no SaaS - Runs 10 quality domains automatically: linting, formatting, type checking, SAST/security scanning, SCA/dependency checks, IaC validation, container scanning, unit tests, coverage thresholds, code duplication, etc. - Produces a QUALITY.md dashboard with health scores (e.g. 9.1/10), trends, and issue…

Hey HN! We're Charles and Dean. A few weeks ago we posted about Stage, a code review tool that guides you through reading a PR step by step - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47796818. We got a lot of great feedback but also heard from many people that they wanted to have the chapters experience even before opening a PR… so we built the Stage CLI as the local, open-source version that anyone can try. Here’s a quick demo video: https://www.tella.tv/video/stage-cli-demo-f55q It works with any coding agent of your choice. The skill instructs the agent to…

Hi! My name is Herve Kom, a computer science student that is interested in learning new things everyday! As one of my graduation project, I have developed a Claude Code -like Coding CLI, but with enhancement for API Testing: - Auto-generate & run tests (unit, e2e, Playwright, CI/CD, etc.) - Say bye-bye to hallucinations with built-in MCP Server to let LLM directly read from API Docs - Adding Agent.md support for better context persistence across your whole codebase - Automatic bug & security scans (logic is kind of basic but works great!) - Vibes, I want it to feel less "enterprise" but…

npx agentseed init AGENTS.md (https://agents.md) is a standard file used by AI coding agents to understand a repo (stack, commands, conventions). Agentseed generates it directly from the codebase using static analysis. Optional LLM augmentation is supported by bringing your own API key. Extracts languages, frameworks, dependencies, build/test commands, directory structure, and monorepo boundaries.

Excited to share a project I’ve been building for months! Would love to receive honest feedback :) My motivation: AI is clearly going to be the interface for data. But earlier attempts (text-to-SQL, etc.) fell short — they treated it like magic. The space has matured: teams now realize that AI + data needs structure, context, and rules. So I built a product to help teams deliver “chat with data” solutions fast with full control and observability (agent tracing, quality scores, etc) — am I wrong? The product allows you to connect any LLM to any data source with centralized context…

Feels a bit like Figma, but for coding agents. Instead of going back and forth with prompts, you give the agent a DESIGN.md that defines the design system up front, and it generally sticks to it when generating UI. Google Stitch seems to be moving in this direction as a standard, so we put together a small collection of DESIGN.md files based on popular web sites.

I created this tool after writing a few agent skills by hand and noticing this pattern was repetitive. Paste a documentation URL, enter your own model API key, and it gets the page content client-side to create a reusable SKILL.md. There is no backend/proxy, so it stays as secure as possible. I would like feedback on the structure of the output and the edge cases.

I’ve been working on Code2Docs, an open-source CLI tool that helps developers automatically generate inline documentation (docstrings + comments) for Python code using AI. It’s built to solve a common problem I’ve faced (and seen often in teams): We code by "vibe" — fast iterations, minimal docs, and then forget what the logic was months later. Code2Docs helps bridge that gap by documenting as you go — without breaking your flow. Right now it supports function-level documentation. Planned features include: - README.md generation for projects - API endpoint docs - Database schema…
