    GitHired▲360

Hey HN - today I’m launching GitHired. A hiring platform that ranks developers based on what they actually build — not what they claim on a PDF. It’s called GitHired, and here’s the core idea: GitHub > Resumes Instead of trusting “proficient in React” bullet points, we analyze a candidate’s actual GitHub: their real tech stack their most complex projects how active they are what kinds of contributions they make which skills match your job description and yes, we detect fake “green square farming.” Why we built this Because engineering hiring is broken. Resumes are inflated. Activity charts…

I've long had a dislike for leetcode interviews on both sides of the coin. Project-based interviews can also be challenging because it can end up filtering out folks who don't want to spend several hours building something in their free time. I met up with a friend last year -- a very senior dev -- who had taken some time off to study leetcode exercises while preparing for FAANG interviews. It struck me that one of the key measures of whether a candidate is a fit for a team is rather synthetic. CodeRev.app is a simple, lightweight tool that helps teams evaluate candidates using code reviews.…

Hi HN, we’re Nate and Ty, co-founders of Continue, an open-source autopilot for software development built to be deeply customizable and continuously learn from development data. It consists of an extended language server and (to start) a VS Code extension. Our GitHub is https://github.com/continuedev/continue. You can watch a demo of Continue and download the extension at https://continue.dev — — — A growing number of developers are replacing Google + Stack Overflow with Large Language Models (LLMs) as their primary approach to get help, similar to how…

As you solve LeetCode questions, you can mark them as hard, medium, or easy. The tool will then recommend questions you should review based on (1) how hard the question was for you and (2) how much time has passed since you last reviewed it. I'd recommend normally attempting LeetCode problems and just marking them as hard, medium, or easy for you at first so the tool knows which problems to recommend you review! We’re 5 founders who’ve collectively done over 250 interviews - everywhere from startups to Big Tech to quant shops. Most of the interviews we’ve done were Leetcode based or tested skills that weren’t used on the job. These days, with AI, assessments still continue to test code output. Meanwhile, at each of our companies, though, PR counts have nearly tripled. Most of us haven’t manually edited a line of code in a year. Our teams are putting more and more emphasis on code and architecture reviews, yet hiring processes haven’t changed whatsoever. Even the AI-assisted ones we’ve done still…

Hey HN, We’re two developers (co-founders) with a team of 20 who got tired of spending hours reviewing PRs, so we built Infinitcode.ai, an AI-powered code reviewer that: - *Summarizes PRs in plain English*: No more deciphering 1,000-line diff jungles - *Catches more than bugs*: Security holes, performance pitfalls, code smells, even typos (yes, we’ll flag “vurnerabilities” and vulnerabilities) - *Zero onboarding*: Works instantly—no “let me learn your codebase for weeks” nonsense. Why we’re posting: We’re in alpha and need brutal honesty. Roast our tool, mock our UI, or tell us why AI will…

ChunkHound’s goal is simple: local-first codebase intelligence that helps you pull deep, core-dev-level insights on demand, generate always-up-to-date docs, and scale from small repos to enterprise monorepos — while staying free + open source and provider-agnostic (VoyageAI / OpenAI / Qwen3, Anthropic / OpenAI / Gemini / Grok, and more). I’d love your feedback — and if you have, thank you for being part of the journey!

Chunk co-founder here. We spent the last 2 weeks building this to scratch our own itch: As developers, we often have problems that could be solved just by running a few lines of code. Sometimes, running this code on your local machine is fine. But other time, the code need to run automatically reacting to external events or to run continuously, which means, it needs to run on a server somewhere. So now, you have to find a cloud provider, to package or build the code and finally to deploy it. All of that for what could be literally be 4 lines of code. We couldn’t find an easier way to do…

Hi, I’m Mikkel and I’m building Async, an open-sourced developer tool that combines AI coding with task management and code review. What Async does: - Automatically researches coding tasks, asks clarifying questions, then executes code changes in the cloud - Breaks work into reviewable subtasks with stack diffs for easier code review - Handles the full workflow from issue to merged PR without leaving the app Demo here: https://youtu.be/98k42b8GF4s?si=Azf3FIWAbpsXxk3_ I’ve been working as a developer for over a decade now. OP here. I built RepoReaper to solve code context fragmentation in RAG. Unlike standard chat-with-repo tools, it simulates a senior engineer's workflow: it parses Python AST for logic-aware chunking, uses a ReAct loop to JIT-fetch missing file dependencies from GitHub, and employs hybrid search (BM25+Vector). It also generates Mermaid diagrams for architecture visualization. The backend is fully async and persists state via ChromaDB. Link: https://github.com/tzzp1224/RepoReaper

Tell me if this is an atrociously terrible idea - I've been working on building a leetcode for clientside devs so we can practice React and Javascript interview questions in a more concise way, I call it clientside.dev I just finished a beta version of it yesterday and plan on releasing it with many more problems on Jan 1st but it's there if you wanna play with it open to any ideas / feedback however mean or nice it may be :)

Hey everyone! Every reviewer loves smaller pull requests, but they can be hard to do practically. We created a Github integration that adds the following features - Commit checkpoints (i.e. stacked reviews) - Autogenerated tabs (based on dependency graphs) - A central pull request inbox (highlights which PRs need your attention) Commit checkpoints helps authors stack smaller changes within a single pull request without having to manage tons of branch offshoots. It works by using the common “[x/n]” prefix notation (where x is the stack number). This is the workflow: - Author makes some…

I’ve spent the last 2.5 months building a product that runs LLM-powered code reviews on my pull requests — and I just launched it. The tool is built specifically for solo developers. You install it on your repo, trigger a scan by creating a pull request, and it leaves structured review comments using OpenAI under the hood. Funnily enough, I used the dev version of this app to review its own pull requests while building it. It helped me spot bugs, simplify structure, and keep quality high — all with minimal need for another human in the loop. Things I want to try out in the next months : -…

Hey HN, As most of you (I think?), I cannot learn something without having a project, on the side, to implement what I’ve just learned. Recode is the project that I've used to learn Go. It lets you create a development environment in your cloud provider account easily. You can think of it as a desktop version of Gitpod / Coder / GitHub Codespaces less polished and with less features but 100% free and open-source. At the time of writing, it only works with Visual Studio Code and AWS. In order to let you configure your development environments easily, I’ve chosen to use Docker with…

Hi HN, I’m Valentin, a developer who’s found code reviews to be a slow process, especially after context switching or juggling different projects and languages. Even reviewing my own code can be tough when I’ve lost the thread or just need a fresh perspective. Over the past few weekends, I built GitReviewed to make PR reviews faster, smarter, and genuinely useful for real teams. What it does: - Reviews any GitHub or GitLab pull/merge request with AI-powered comments, spotting security issues, code patterns, typos, and more - Posts comments as you (not a bot), so feedback fits naturally…

Hi HN, I built my first project using an LLM in mid-2024. I've been excited ever since. But of course, at some point it all turns into a mess. You see, software is an intricate interwoven collection of tiny details. Good software gets many details right; and does not regress as it gains functionality. My bootstrapped startup, ApprovIQ (https://approviq.com) is trying to break into a mature market with multiple fully featured competitors. I need to get the details right: MVP quality won't sell. So I opted for Test-Driven Development, the classic red/green/refactor. Writing…
