I built this last year but never posted it anywhere, but now with Reddit hiatus it seems like the right time to give it a shot. The main goal of zsync is to foster high quality content and discussion. That's it. If it can't accomplish that, then to me it is a failure. I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. I've been frustrated with Reddit's recent API turn, and am also not the biggest fan of HN on mobile. I used to take part in discussion years ago on both sites, but have slowly turned into a lurker. As such, I need a slick client that works on both desktop and mobile, that let's me merely consume content, both media and comments, on both sites. When Reddit killed 3rd party apps, I uploaded a web viewer I have been using for myself to access Reddit (without 99 popups) to Github pages for everyone to use. I posted about it on Lemmy and it shot to the front page. Any suggestions are appreciated, stack utilizes Gluestack UI ,Expo, React Native, and Cloudflare Pages. There is a known bug via touch scroll ability on Android, external keyboard's spacebar or mouse works correctly though, currently. If you know about a solution, let me know. Hey everyone! I've built an open-source Android app that allows you to browse Reddit without using their API. It is built on the library I've published here earlier. Basically, the app uses JSON feeds of Reddit to replicate various endpoints. What this means is that you can browse Reddit without an account and get posts, comments, images, videos and nsfw contents without having to deal with ads etc. In it's current state it has just the basic functionality and I am planning to add more features soon.
