Hello HN! The day has finally come to stop adding features and start sharing what I've been building the last 5-6 months. It's a bit of CrewAI, OpenDevon, LangFuse/Cloud all in one, providing devs who prefer TypeScript an integrated framework thats provides a lot out of the box to start experimenting and building agents with. It started after peeking at the LangChain docs a few times and never liking the example code. I began experimenting with automating a simple Jira request from the engineering team to add an index to one of our Google Spanner databases (for context I'm the…

This is a little side project I've been working on for the last few months. It's a service hosting Lua scripts behind static HTTP endpoints in a fully sandboxed environment. It's something I've built to scratch my own itch and now I'm launching a free public beta to see if it's something that anyone else also finds useful. My first professional job was for a company building an industrial IoT platform who's most unique feature was their Lua-based scripting platform. I ended up loving Lua so much that at my next job, at SmartThings, I ended up being the main instigator who made the Lua-based…

Hello! We just released freeact (https://github.com/gradion-ai/freeact), a lightweight agent library that empowers language models to act as autonomous agents through executable code actions. By enabling agents to express their actions directly in code rather than through constrained formats like JSON, freeact provides a flexible and powerful approach to solving complex, open-ended problems that require dynamic solution paths. * Supports dynamic installation and utilization of Python packages at runtime * Agents learn from feedback and store successful code actions as…

Our new, free ros-tool capability makes it trivial to interact with ROS from the web. It provides a React API for subscribing and publish to topics and for placing service calls. It works with both ROS 1 and 2, and unlike rosbridge, it caches all data in the cloud, which means your UIs will work even when your robot is offline (just showing the latest data). Since all data is synced via the cloud, it is also much easier and more efficient to aggregate data from multiple robots, e.g., for showing your fleet on a map. Hey folks — here’s a small experiment I hacked together over the weekend: https://cleoselene.com/ In short, it’s a way to build multiplayer games with no client-side game logic. Everything is rendered on the server, and the game itself is written as simple Lua scripts. I built this to explore a few gamedev ideas I’ve been thinking about while working on Abstra: - Writing multiplayer games as if they were single-player (no client/server complexity) - Streaming game primitives instead of pixels, which should be much lighter - Server-side rendering makes cheating basically…

Hi all, I've just launched Leet Robotics: a platform to learn robotics hands-on, with a full ROS2 workspace that runs in the browser (Jazzy, Gazebo Harmonic, Foxglove, VS Code) - no install required. The platform also has room for sharing projects and simulation assets as it grows. Our first course is live now: Intro to ROS2 (free to read). The course teaches skills ranging from building your first node to a capstone project of a robot touring a museum world, with every lesson runnable in the online workspace (free accounts get an hour of workspace time daily - enough to follow the course).…
