Products that do what RSS Lookup – Find RSS Feeds for Any URL (Free, Open Source) does

Hi everyone, I built a tool a few years ago called RSS Lookup(https://www.rsslookup.com/) and recently made a few UI and feed detection updates to it. It's free, and allows you to paste any website URL and it automatically searches for feeds via meta tags, fallback paths, and hardcoded feeds for some popular sites. It's also open-source(https://github.com/mratmeyer/rsslookup), has no ads, and doesn't track any URLs(uses Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse and Plausible for analytics). Max

I developed a small tool to find RSS feeds for websites. You can try it out here: https://lighthouseapp.io/tools/feed-finder In >90% of cases the standard way of checking meta tags is enough to find the feeds. But my goal for this tool is that it finds feeds regardless if they're linked somewhere or not. That if this feed finder doesn't find a feed, no feed exists. It's a big goal and admittedly not there yet, but it does a few things that are a step in that direction. * Checks meta tags of parent pages (sometimes the article itself doesn't have the meta tag, but the main…

Howdy! RSSfeedASAP scratches my own itch. I run a regional podcasting directory which gets dozens of messy submission for podcasts. Often they don't even include an xml file and me being a good samaritan I sometimes do the manual work and find it myself. I got tired of that manual work and decided to build a microapp. RSSfeedASAP is this app and I decided to release it in case someone else finds any use in it.

Alternative search engines are neat, as are RSS feeds. OpenOrb is a self-hosted app which allows visitors to search over a list of blogs you love. If you put your 10 favourite blogs in there, it'll search just those blogs and not show you any sponsored content or machine-generated garbage (unless... you follow blogs written by machines?) Personal RSS feed readers can usually do this sort of thing, but RSS readers aren’t meant to be shared, so you can think of the search engine as a 'curated feed list as a public service'. I wrote a longer blog post about OpenOrb here:…

I built Site Spy after missing a visa appointment slot because a government page changed and I didn’t notice for two weeks. It watches webpages for changes and shows the result like a diff. The part I think HN might find interesting is that it can monitor a specific element on a page, not just the whole page, and it can expose changes as RSS feeds. So instead of tracking an entire noisy page, you can watch just a price, a stock status, a headline, or a specific content block. When it changes, you can inspect the diff, browse the snapshot history, or follow the updates in an RSS reader. It’s…

Hi, folks. As an RSS user, I tried Inoreader and Feedly, then ended up self-hosting a Miniflux instance on my homelab. A few months ago, I moved to another city and had to shut down my homelab for a long time, so I couldn't access my local miniflux. It was quite inconvenient. I decided to self-host my RSS aggregator on a tiny VPS or PaaS such as fly.io. However, Miniflux requires a PostgreSQL database, which may isn't suitable for a tiny VPS instance. So I built fusion with Golang and SQLite. It contains basic features such as Group, Bookmark, Search, Automatically feeds sniffing,…

It accepts urls and tries to find a feed for it. Most of the work is O(1). Scratches a personal itch.

I wrote an RSS reader called RSS Brain recently. The motivate is the current RSS readers either don't sort articles by priority, which makes it hard to read posts from HackerNews and Reddit, or sort it with some "smart" algorithm which I don't trust. I also like the Google News feature that can show related story from different source, but the sources are not configurable and the algorithm is not transparent either. So with RSS Brain, I implemented these features: * Recommend related articles from the feeds of your choice. It's backed by ElasticSearch and the algorithm is described on RSS…

FeedRiv is an open source RSS feed reader that I built as part of my 12 Startups in 12 Months Challenge (Open Source Edition). The open source code can be found on Github: https://github.com/dashboardq/feedriv It is very minimal and probably a bit rough in some areas. I use it to track freelance jobs through RSS so it does what I need it to do.
