Hi HN, I built VT Code, a semantic coding agent. Supports all SOTA and open sources model. Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Codex. Agent Skills, Model Context Protocol and Agent Client Protocol (ACP) ready. All open source models are support. Local inference via LM Studio and Ollama (experiment). Semantic context understanding is supported by ast-grep for structured code search and ripgrep for powered grep. I built VT Code in Rust on Ratatui. Architecture and agent loop documented in the README and DeepWiki. Repo: https://github.com/vinhnx/VTCode DeepWiki:…

I built this because I got tired of watching Claude Code read through massive files just to find a few functions. Sourcerer lets AI agents search code semantically and grab exactly the code chunks they need instead of burning tokens on whole files. It uses tree-sitter to parse your codebase and creates a searchable index. So instead of "read auth.py (538 lines)", an agent can search for "user authentication logic" and get back just the relevant functions. Hey HN! Ilya and Nikita here. We're building wispbit (https://wispbit.com) - a tool that helps keep codebase standards alive. With the help of AI coding tools, engineers are writing more code than ever. Code output has increased, but the tooling to manage this hasn't improved. Background agents still write bad code, and your IDE still writes slop without the right context. So we built wispbit. It works by scanning your codebase for patterns you already use, and coming up with rules. Rules are kept up to date as standards change, and you can edit rules any time. You can enforce…

Vexp▲14I built vexp because AI coding agents have two expensive problems: they waste tokens reading irrelevant code, and they forget everything between sessions. The token problem: agents read entire files linearly to build context. On a medium TypeScript project, a single query was consuming ~18k tokens — most of it irrelevant. vexp builds a dependency graph from the AST (who calls what, who imports what, what types flow where) and serves only the relevant subgraph as a token-budgeted capsule. ~2.4k tokens instead of ~18k, with better response quality because the context is precise. The memory…

Hey HN! I'm Arindam, part of the team behind Memori (https://memori.gibsonai.com/). Memori adds a stateful memory engine to AI agents, enabling them to stay consistent, recall past work, and improve over time. With Memori, agents don’t lose track of multi-step workflows, repeat tool calls, or forget user preferences. Instead, they build up human-like memory that makes them more reliable and efficient across sessions. We’ve also put together demo apps (a personal diary assistant, a research agent, and a travel planner) so you can see memory in action. Current LLMs are stateless…

Hello HN, we're Jeet and Husain from Modulus (https://modulus.so) - a desktop app that lets you run multiple coding agents with shared project memory. We built it to solve two problems we kept running into: - Cross-repo context is broken. When working across multiple repositories, agents don't understand dependencies between them. Even if we open two repos in separate Cursor windows, we still have to manually explain the backend API schema while making changes in the frontend repo. - Agents lose context. Switching between coding agents often means losing context and repeating the…

I'm an "ideas person" who messes around with AI on a low budget. I got tired of watching my tokens vanish and context windows filling up while agents fumbled around trying to find the right thing. Agents don't flail like they used to with shell tools, but there are still weak/blind spots and back-and-forth episodes — especially when using tools in combination/sequence. So I built "tilth" today. Or rather, AI built it — every line is Opus 4.6. I spent a lot of my precious tokens getting it to "not shit" (at least several of the different vendors' AI overlords assure me it's not…
