I built LocalGPT over 4 nights as a Rust reimagining of the OpenClaw assistant pattern (markdown-based persistent memory, autonomous heartbeat tasks, skills system). It compiles to a single ~27MB binary — no Node.js, Docker, or Python required. Key features: - Persistent memory via markdown files (MEMORY, HEARTBEAT, SOUL markdown files) — compatible with OpenClaw's format - Full-text search (SQLite FTS5) + semantic search (local embeddings, no API key needed) - Autonomous heartbeat runner that checks tasks on a configurable interval - CLI + web interface + desktop GUI - Multi-provider:…

I am happy to announce Stalwart JMAP [1], an open-source JSON Meta Application Protocol server that aims to be scalable, robust and secure. Some of its key features are: - JMAP Core, JMAP Mail and JMAP over WebSocket full compliance. - IMAP4 rev2/1 support via Stalwart IMAP, an imap-to-jmap proxy [2]. - Scalable and fault tolerant: consensus over Raft, node autodiscovery over gossip and read-only replicas. - RocksDB backend with full-text search support in 17 languages. - OAuth 2.0 authorization code and device authorization flows. - Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) message signing. -…

Long-simmering side project that is finally ready to see the light. HAMTs are a cool persistent data structure and implementing one has been a lot of fun. Beyond the code, there is likely some value in the extensive and largely complete implementation docs; basic benchmarks are linked in the README, too. Kind of aiming to be "the libavl for HAMTs". That is obviously a high and aspirational bar but a distinct possibility if it stirs up a little interest and/or contribution. Anyways, it's time for this to go out, collect feedback and maybe even some use outside of toy projects. Let me…

We built a Rust MCP server, which wraps the excellent headless terminal (HT)[1] to makes it available for agentic coding tools. Most agentic coding tools struggle with blocking, interactive terminal tools (all the boilerplate generator, infra CLI tools etc). This is because many existing CLI dev tools are built for humans and require interactive input. We built this so agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Memex, etc) can “see” and “interact” with terminals exactly like humans do. In our demo video [2], you'll see it operating vim/emacs just as a human would - selecting options,…

Hey HN, this is Will and David from Fortress (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41426998). We use a lot of async Rust internally, and created this library out of a need for an async-aware concurrent hashmap since there weren’t many available in the Rust ecosystem. Whirlwind is a sharded HashMap with a fully asynchronous API. Just as dashmap is a replacement for std::sync::RwLock, whirlwind aims to be a replacement for tokio::sync::RwLock. It has a similar design and performance characteristics to dashmap, but seems to perform better in read-heavy workloads with tokio's…

I was building a Rust-based agentic coding TUI and needed to render Mermaid diagrams. Noticed the official mermaid-cli spawns a full browser instance (Puppeteer/Chrome) just to render diagrams. Decided to fix this. mmdr is a native Rust renderer. No browser, no Node.js. mermaid-cli: ~3000ms per diagram mmdr: ~3ms per diagram Supports 13 diagram types: flowchart, sequence, class, state, ER, pie, gantt, timeline, journey, mindmap, git graph, XY chart, and quadrant.

Intended for 10-year (plus hopefully) deployment lifetime on $10-30 of silicon. The kind of thing you screw to a wall, plug in, and walk away from for a decade. No telemetry, no phone-home updates, no external dependencies. Storage decisions get a sanity checked against NVS wear... a write-per-PUBLISH would shred the flash in months, so the retained store and in tables that stay in PSRAM. Its heavily written with AI and borrowed a lot of visuals from Tasmota. Not for production use yet (been currently running it for a month with great results!)

Async.MQTT5 is a professional, industrial-grade C++20 client built on Boost.Asio. This client is designed for publishing or receiving messages from an MQTT 5.0 compatible broker. Async.MQTT5 represents a comprehensive implementation of the MQTT 5.0 protocol standard, offering full support for publishing or receiving messages with QoS 0, 1, and 2. Our clear intention is to include the Async.MQTT5 library into Boost. We are actively working on it.

Hey HN, Sagiv from liblab is here. We've been deep in the world of API tooling for years at liblab, primarily focusing on generating SDKs and documentation from OpenAPI specs. Recently, we kept running into a recurring frustration: connecting AI tools to existing APIs is way more complex than it should be. You start with a simple goal – let an LLM talk to your API – and suddenly you're neck-deep in spinning up infrastructure, wrestling with authentication, and writing a ton of custom glue code just to translate natural language into structured API calls. Then you have to maintain it all. To…
