Products that do what Teamates.io – Random video chats for professionals does

Hello HN, I built Teamates.io[0] - a place for professionals to have small coffee chats with a random partner right now. Think of it like a virtual coffeeshop where you can chat with strangers while you're taking a little break. It's in open beta and you can try using it right now. Please be nice and professional to each other :) I noticed over the course of pandemic I missed random coffee chats with my coworkers and random chats with strangers. I think it's important to have these unplanned conversations. I would really appreciate the feedback from you all, since I believe it's a pretty…

This is something fun I’ve been hacking on recently: ridiculously simple group chat. Go to http://faces.io and then get your friends to do the same. That’s it! :-D Currently works best in Chrome. It’s definitely beta status at best. Audio can get weird—be ready to mute. ;-) Let me know what you think!

I always find myself frustrated by how many steps I have to take to video chat with someone online. There's always too much software to download and install, and too many accounts to remember. The high-end, high-price Cisco conferencing systems I've used are especially fragile. So I built Vidless in a weekend for myself, and I hope you find it useful too. Just create a room and share the link, and you'll be chatting in seconds. You can invite several people (I haven't really tested a max yet), and chats on Vidless are always private. Enjoy!

Hey HN, We've just launched our team collaboration platform where we're bringing together all the important tools under one app. We've been frustrated in the past with tools which had a huge disconnect between projects and chat. It always inevitably leads to teams using external chat apps for "project management" and then abandoning the main tools altogether. We're creating tools we hope teams will stick with. Super integrated Chat. Convert comments to tasks and have them auto added to project boards. Automations to help massively reduce burden on the team. Workflows, Time-Off and so much…

Hey there! I realized I was compiling a list of coffee shops with highly curated reviews in my personal notes: chair comfort, Wi-Fi networks and passwords, internet speed, noise level, bathroom cleanliness, etc... It worked fine for me, but when I wanted to share my list to some friends I realized the underlying problem. So I created Workffee for two reasons: 1. To allow me to save my reviews in a more convenient way and share them. 2. To connect with others who are interested in this information, and who knows, maybe share a coffee and a work session together eventually. I hope you like my…

URL -> Http://www.teamchat.me (landing page only works for desktop/pc for now) I'm doing another relaunch soon of this group chat app I've been working on in the past year. I've learned a lot after each launch and since I'm not getting any traffic why not just keep testing different methods until I get it right? Art! Science! Anyways let me know what you think. If you're working in remote/distributed teams or are interested in using an app that streamlines your internal business communication please let me know I would love to talk to you one on one and get an idea of the challenges you…

I created a pet project to see if it is of use and interesting to people. The idea is on-demand real-time chat rooms for trending topics and for personal use. You can go to the main page at www.urshoutbox.com to create your own room then share it across your social networks/email, etc. I created a hacker news specific "shoutbox" at http://www.urshoutbox.com/bLmYAL/hacker-news . If nobody is in there, please be patient and (I hope) people will join soon to start talking. The idea is to have trending topics on facebook/twitter/etc and have chat rooms to get…

Hey HN, I'm a longtime reader and this is my first Show HN (exciting!) It's a collaboration between me and two friends, and we're building this upon another app we made called EmailYak, an API to receive email. We're trying something new and releasing the documentation to an app while we're still building it. We'd love feedback. Do you belong to any of these categories? 1) You've built an app with two distinct groups of users (say, people with cars and those looking for a ride) and they were able to communicate with each other. Did you expose personal email addresses? Did you send…

Hey HN, I've been a long time HN reader and here is my first contribution. Hoodsup.me is a chat-based matchmaking app built on top of your Facebook social graph. It matchmakes you with people who are geographically close to you and with whom you share common points. You can optionally activate your webcam to talk face-to-face with your partner. Think of it as a Sonar meets a genital-free Chatroulette. I would love to get some feedback. It's only optimized for WebKit for now. No signup is required so just stop by and say hi! :) Clickable link: <a…

It is currently in a half-arsed situation so needs lot of work but wanted to get some feedback from you. Thanks PS. Hello HN, I just launched presbot.com Presbot makes it really easy to create a professional grade chatbot. There’s no code to write, workflows to build, is office appropriate, has community features (likes, connections, private messages), ability to track views, chat transcripts and more, plus is totally free. You can personalize the look and feel of your chatbot, train it with prescribed questions, add your own questions and share its link on your resume. It can answer questions on your behalf when you’re not reachable or busy. Think of it as a super scaled down interactive version of…
