Hey HN, I made this free browser extension that modernizes the Hacker News design. I got tired of waiting for news websites to load, so I made a text-only news website that only has major news headlines. 2. I love HN but always felt the search with algolia is okay but does have some limitations. Since I work at Vectara I decided to try and create a better search for HN. I made a little website with a server that collects only HN submissions with > 500 upvotes chronologically. https://hn.moritz.pm/ It's quite simple because I wanted to learn from the project. But I think it's useful, to get a summary of what was important over the last days. The UI is almost identical to the HN frontpage, you can click on the comments to view the thread and on the username to see the profile. The rest of the cards takes you to the submitted URL.

One year ago, I downloaded the news.arc code and decided that I would teach myself programming by building a better aggregator. So I created a solution for myself where I extract key points of the articles and present them as bullet points, for readability. Hello HN I visit a few sites news sites daily and wanted to see the headlines all on one page and also have it update itself throughout the day. It is not finished yet, but is usable enough to share. If you want to make a custom page, you can click the 'build your custom page' at the top, and select the feeds that are of interest to you.
