Products that do what UltimateExpress – 5x faster HTTP server with full Express compatibility does
For the past few weeks I've been working on Ultimate Express - https://github.com/dimdenGD/ultimate-express It's complete reimplementation of Express, with support for all APIs, except built on top of uWebSockets. It's the only library that fully implements Express' API while using uWS. It's about 5 times faster than Express. Please check Github for more benchmark info. I have started replacing Express with this library in my projects and performance improved by 1.5-4 times depending on route. In 1 case file serving throughput increased from 230 MB/sec to 800…

Hi HN! During the last few years, I worked on a few applications built with Go, running on AWS Lambda. As I got to know the platform better, I started to find Go & Lambda to be a really productive combination. The applications were fast, and they ended up being much cheaper to run than what my team & I had built before. It’s probably not the best platform for _every_ application, but I was surprised at how much of our workload worked well on it. As we brought new engineers on to our team and helped them get up to speed with the stack, I found that we were covering a lot of the same topics…

Optimal UX runs experiments directly on the server side through a Cloudflare Worker, meaning variations are applied before the page even reaches the browser. The core idea is to intercept and modify the HTML stream at the edge, which eliminates client-side overhead. For websites using Cloudflare, it's just a matter of installing the Smart Agent. The same agent works seamlessly with React, Vue, and other frontend frameworks when client-side testing is needed. One unexpected benefit that emerged during development was the ability to quickly apply HTML patches. This turned out to be super…

I've decided to bite the bullet and release Bitbox.co and get some feedback. I've been coding for years and one of the things I constantly see companies do is write and rewrite a document storage system, so I decided to write one for them. Bitbox.co uses cloud storage (currently Azure) to store documents but can be coded to use any cloud service. Documents can be public or private and URLs to that document can be used directly in HTML. There are currently a list of WebAPIs for developers to use as a tool, or build an entire system around. This is an MVP and it's simple. Upload a file, get a…

This is based on an approach I made for a very high performance message and video multiplexing server. The project died, but I'm glad I get to share the a basic version with some http test code now. I admit this is the second time I've tried to show this off here today; I posted earlier but it got lost when no-one was watching :(

Hey HN, we're Sebastian and Mish and we are working on EdgeNode - A global serverless deployment platform. Typically, most applications are hosted in a single location. This makes the experience worse for the users based further away due to high latency. Higher latency leads to decreased conversion rates, impairs user interactions and ultimately reduces customer satisfaction. Amazon and Google operate their services globally to eliminate this issue and increase service reliablity. However, setting up and maintaining such an infrastructure is technically challenging and very costly. With…
