Over the last two years, I developed a tournament system called Bracket. Most (if not all) tournament systems available online are paid and ask tons of money (a typical minimum subscription costs 50 euros per month, and go up to 500 euros per month or so), which is not feasible for many small sport clubs/individuals. So I developed my own system and put it publicly on GitHub. AFAIK this is the only open source tournament system available that has a significant amount of features. I made this tournament system for my badminton club and hosted six paid tournaments successfully. It…

I couldn't find a nice worldcup bracket visualizer out there so ended up building one. It's nicer than the ones I saw out there. There is no login, no ads, runs client side, uses localStorage and all the state is encoded in the URL itself and you can share it. The calendar feature is nice. I wanted to build my own schedule for the games I was interested in. There is full calendar that you can subscribe to as well, that gets updated as the fixtures get decided. Been having a lot of fun reading an SC2Replay collection through nom parsers, serializing into Arrow files so that pola.rs can read them and perform data analysis with jupyter lab, plotly or interact with SQL operations, etc. Looking for feedback and ideas on what to progress on. For example, "through history, are my timings getting better?". etc. Also would love to have ideas on what libraries to use to perform forecasting.

Hi! I made this as a side project this week to submit a bracket for our friends' NFL playoff bracket competition. It is all html and vanilla JS, runs directly in the browser, and is pretty fun to take for a spin. Obviously it is far from polished - that might have to wait for next year!

Hi HN, I made a simple little app to keep track of game rankings with friends. It uses the Elo system (like in chess) to adjust scores after each game. Works for board games, chess, padel, tennis, or anything that’s competitive. It’s free — give it a try
