Products that do what Vimacs – Fast, Feature-rich & Beautiful Neovim configuration does
Vimacs project has just released! One of the most feature-rich neovim configurations out there. Manifest: There are some philosophical differences between (neo)vim & emacs (barely summarizing): (neo)vim is more minimalist and more focused on coding (unix philosophy) emacs is known to be an extensible editor that can ease the process of (almost) any text related task. (IRC, E-Mail, Note taking etc.) With Vimacs you have the efficiency of (neo)vim and (some) features of emacs. - Feature-complete (Some inspired from emacs & JetBrains) - Fast (Lazy loading ~%97.5) - Simple (configuration +…

Switching back-and-forth a bit between Spacemacs and Neovim, I got inspired by https://github.com/ctjhoa/spacevim and thought to myself "Hey, that's a great idea!", and so I went into my first time actually toying with vim script (love-hate relationship atm). The result of the last couple of days so far is the ground work for a Neovim specific port of Spacemacs, located here https://github.com/Tehnix/spaceneovim. The major difference between that and the existing spacevim is that the layers are separated out from the core, and can be updated via an…

While speccing out this spreadsheet tool, I realized that I never had to think about the keybindings. It all just came naturally from Vim. Normal/insert/visual modes, hjkl navigation, dd/yy/p, :w, :q. The usual muscle memory works. It supports CSV/TSV import and export, and a native .cell format that preserves formulas. The formula engine handles SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN, MAX, and IF with range references. The codebase is a Cargo workspace: a pure cell-sheet-core library (no TUI dependency) and a cell-sheet-tui crate on top of ratatui. Early days, but it's usable. To…

I built a lightweight Neovim GUI client for macOS. The goal was something simple — just render Neovim in a proper macOS window with multi-window support, like MacVim did for Vim. Features: - Metal GPU-accelerated rendering (falls back to CoreText) - Multi-window — each window is an independent Neovim process - Neovim's native tabline with Cmd+1-9 - Full IME support for CJK input - Standard macOS shortcuts work out of the box (Cmd+C/V/X/Z/S/W) - CLI launcher with gvimdiff support - Uses your system-installed Neovim — no bundled binary The whole thing was built in a…

Hey HN, we built a pure-Lua Neovim plugin that brings Cursor-style next-edit predictions to Neovim, running entirely on local models. Tab to accept, Esc to reject. GitHub: https://github.com/BlinkResearchLabs/blink-edit.nvim We're Blink Research Labs (https://github.com/BlinkResearchLabs) - an open research collective building AI coding tools in the open. Our philosophy is simple: if it's not open, it's not research; if it's not fast, it's not usable. We think the best AI coding tools shouldn't be locked behind $20/month subscriptions or closed-source…

Hello guys, I wanted to get your feedback on my recent project : it aims to unify Vim configuration by aggregating some common plugins in order to provide an easy-to-use « package ». It's called vimified : https://github.com/zaiste/vimified The idea was to make it simpler than Janus (e.g. vundle instead of submodules et al.); it is also somehow similar to spf13-vim. What do you think? Thanks!

I built MiniVim, a small and minimal Neovim configuration focused on keeping things simple and readable. The goal was to have a setup that: starts fast uses only essential plugins avoids heavy frameworks remains easy to understand and extend The structure is intentionally small: It’s not meant to compete with full Neovim distributions, but rather serve as a clean base configuration that can be extended gradually. I use it across multiple machines (laptop, WSL, and servers), so reproducibility and simplicity were priorities. Feedback is welcome.

MCP-Neovim-Server is a proof-of-concept that connects Claude Desktop (or any client) to Neovim via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Neovim’s NodeJS client library. It uses Vim’s native editing power and the model's knowledge of Vim to add a lightweight AI text assistant for coding or general use. Feedback and issues on github welcome.
