Hi HN, I built webctl because I was frustrated by the gap between curl and full browser automation frameworks like Playwright. I initially built this to solve a personal headache: I wanted an AI agent to handle project management tasks on my company’s intranet. I needed it to persist cookies across sessions (to handle SSO) and then scrape a Kanban board. Existing AI browser tools (like current MCP implementations) often force unsolicited data into the context window—dumping the full accessibility tree, console logs, and network errors whether you asked for them or not. webctl is an attempt…

Hi HN! Excited to share our MCP Server at Hyperbrowser - something we’ve been working on for a few days. We think it’s a pretty neat way to connect LLMs and IDEs like Cursor / Windsurf to the internet. Our MCP server exposes seven tools for data collection and browsing: 1. `scrape_webpage` - Extract formatted (markdown, screenshot etc) content from any webpage 2. `crawl_webpages` - Navigate through multiple linked pages and extract LLM-friendly formatted content 3. `extract_structured_data` - Convert messy HTML into structured JSON 4. `search_with_bing` - Query the web and get results…

Hey HN! We built a browser-based agent that runs inside an authenticated web app, watches how the app calls its own APIs, and automatically turns those into agent tools. You can think of it as an auto-generated MCP server that self-updates as the host app changes. The result is a skilled AI assistant that actually integrates deeply with any product (not just chat and RAG) with minimal effort. Check out these short demos below that show the agent in software you're probably familiar with: - Jira: https://demo.frigade.com/hn?skill=jira - Spotify:…

I built Polymcp, a framework that allows you to transform any Python function into an MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool ready to be used by AI agents. No rewriting, no complex integrations. Examples Simple function: from polymcp.polymcp_toolkit import expose_tools_http def add(a: int, b: int) -> int: """Add two numbers""" return a + b app = expose_tools_http([add], title="Math Tools") Run with: uvicorn server_mcp:app --reload Now add is exposed via MCP and can be called directly by AI agents. API function: import requests from polymcp.polymcp_toolkit import expose_tools_http def…

I’m the developer behind the Web MCP at Bright Data. We just launched a free tier so any AI Engineer/ Vibe coder can give their LLM real web access — 5,000 requests/month at no cost. Unlike most MCP servers that wrap a single SaaS API (e.g. Gmail, GitHub), the Web MCP wraps the entire internet. It handles JS-heavy sites, auto-solves CAPTCHAs, and returns clean Markdown your model can use. Free tier includes: search_engine → search results from Google/Bing/Yandex scrape_as_markdown → fetch any URL as clean, LLM-friendly Markdown (with CAPTCHA handling) Quick start:…

Large Language Models (LLMs) are powerful, but they’re limited by fixed context windows and outdated knowledge. What if your AI could access live search, structured data extraction, OCR, and more—all through a standardized interface? We built the JigsawStack MCP Server, an open-source implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that lets any AI model call external tools effortlessly. Here’s what it unlocks: - Web Search & Scraping: Fetch live information and extract structured data from web pages. - OCR & Structured Data Extraction: Process images, receipts, invoices, and handwritten…

Most of the MCP servers that I’ve seen are tools implemented in standalone projects. To onboard more tools (especially agents and multi-agent workflows) to MCP, I’ve been thinking it’s important to allow AI engineers to continue to prototype in their existing agent frameworks and deploy with minimal conversion when ready. We created the automcp library, which you can add as a dependency to existing projects (CrewAI, LangGraph, Llama Index, OpenAI Agents SDK, Pydantic AI, mcp-agent currently supported but more coming soon). You just need to run a CLI command to create a run_mcp.py file, make…

I am Rohan, and I have grown really frustrated with CC's search and read tools. They use Haiku to summarise all the search results, so it is really slow and often ends up being very lossy. I built this MCP that you can install into your coding agents so they can actually access the web properly. Right now it can: - search the general web - search Reddit - read and scrape basically any webpage Install it: npx openalmanac setup The MCP is completely free to use. We have also built a central store where you can contribute things you learned while exploring. If you find something useful, you can…
