What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hi HN! I'm a 15-year-old dev in Hong Kong who built ExcelTutor.pro. It's an AI assistant that generates Excel formulas, SQL queries, and automation scripts from plain English. Key features: * Infinite usage - no query limits * Formula generation - converts natural language to Excel formulas * SQL Query Builder…

  Data Formulator – AI-powered data visualization from Microsoft Research2024 · github.com · ▲212

Creating data visualizations with AI nowadays often means chat, chat and more chats...and writing long prompts can be annoying while they are also not the most effective way to describe your visualization designs. Data Formulator blends UI interaction with natural language so that you can create visualizations with AI much more effectively! You can: * create rich visualizations beyond initial datasets, where AI helps transforming and visualizing data along the way * iterate your designs and dive deeper using data threads, a new way to manage your conversation with AI. Here is a demo video:…

Hey everyone! I'm Alex, the co-founder of Excel Dashboard Ai. I’m excited to share our AI tool that turns your Excel data into awesome dashboards and detailed reports. Think visualized charts, diverse analysis angles, and almost 10,000 words of AI-driven insights—all in one place. Say goodbye to endless hours of data analysis and report writing. ExcelDashboard is here to boost your productivity! Why did we build this? Back in my previous company, we were constantly asked for data-driven insights and long reports. This process was a huge time drain. I used to joke, "Wouldn't it be great if…

  I'm an airline pilot – I built interactive graphs/globes of my flights▲1,539

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  Workout.cool – Open-source fitness coaching platform▲827

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
