A modern C++20 AI SDK (GPT‑4o, Claude 3.5, tool‑calling)
Hi all, I’m hacking on new features for the ClickHouse native client and wanted the same “just call the model” ergonomics JavaScript and Python now enjoy. It didn’t exist for modern C++, so I wrote one. ai‑sdk‑cpp (Apache‑2.0) gives you: - Unified calls to OpenAI (GPT‑4o) and Anthropic (Claude 3.5) with a single C++20 API. - Streaming, multi‑turn chat, error handling—all std::optional/std::variant, no macros. - Tool calling (function‑calling) so the model can hit real APIs; sync or async, runs in parallel. The tricky bit: C++ still lacks real reflection, so mapping plain functions →…

In plain words
ai-sdk-cpp is a C++20 SDK that provides a unified interface for calling OpenAI's GPT-4o and Anthropic's Claude 3.5 models. It supports streaming, multi-turn conversations, and tool calling, allowing models to invoke real APIs synchronously or asynchronously. Built for C++ developers who want the same ease-of-use as JavaScript and Python SDKs, it uses modern C++ features like std::optional and std::variant for error handling without macros. The library is released under Apache 2.0 and includes example code for common use cases.

Claude Code and Claude 3.7 Sonnet 2025 · anthropic.com · ▲875Claude Opus 4.7 is Anthropic's most capable generally available model, released April 16, 2026. It outperforms Opus 4.6, GPT-5.4, and Gemini 3.1 Pro on key benchmarks including agentic coding, multidisciplinary reasoning, scaled tool use, and agentic computer use. It is benchmarked below Claude Mythos Preview — which remains restricted to Project Glasswing partners. https://vucense.com/ai-intelligence/ai-tools/claude-opus-4-7...
Port of OpenAI's Whisper model in C/C++2022 · github.com · ▲399Hi HN, OpenAI recently released a model for automatic speech recognition called Whisper [0]. I decided to reimplement the inference of the model from scratch using C/C++. To achieve this I implemented a minimalistic tensor library in C and ported the high-level architecture of the model in C++. The entire code is less than 8000 lines of code and is contained in just 2 source files without any third-party dependencies. The Github project is here: https://github.com/ggerganov/whisper.cpp With this implementation I can very easily build and run the model - “make…

RightNow CLI2025 · github.com · ▲121I locked in for 18 hours and built Claude Code for CUDA. It is completely open source! It writes CUDA kernels, debugs memory issues, and optimizes for your specific GPU. It is a fully agentic AI with tool calling built specifically for the CUDA toolkit This is the CLI version of RightNow AI code editor, our GPU-native code editor with a built-in emulator, visual profiling, and remote GPU access. The CLI is open source, lightweight, and fast. It is designed for anyone who wants AI help with CUDA without setup I used Python because it is the most common language, so anyone can build on top of…

Codemcp – Claude Code for Claude Pro subscribers – ditch API bills2025 · github.com · ▲172Hi all! I normally work on the PyTorch project but I've been on baby leave for the past month, so I've been playing around with AI as a user rather than a framework implementor. I really liked the agent experience with Claude Code, but I couldn't really justify spending so many dollars on API costs for random side projects. I already pay for a Claude Pro subscription though, and it turns out you can simulate many of Claude Code's features with an MCP. If you have a Pro subscription, check this out! I think it really captures the Claude Code experience quite well, without forcing you to pay…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
