A Valentine's Day experience for people who aren't celebrating

Hey HN, I built justanotherday.lol today as a quick, fun project for people who aren't really into Valentine's Day. Just a lighthearted take on what some of us might be doing instead—scrolling Instagram, working late, or convincing ourselves that saving money is self-care. No signups, no fluff — just a simple site I put together in Next.js + Framer Motion in a bit of a hurry. Hope you find it fun. Let me know what you think!

In plain words

Justanotherday.lol is a lighthearted website for people skipping Valentine's Day celebrations. Built with Next.js and Framer Motion, it humorously depicts alternative activities like scrolling social media, working late, or rationalizing frugality as self-care. The site requires no signup and offers a simple, straightforward browsing experience without additional features.

    I built a minimal website for Los Angeles2022 · ▲84

I built https://veryla.io - a minimal website for Los Angeles. After growing tired of the chaotic, fast paced, attention-economy focused state of the web, I decided to build something simple and quiet. A site with no "real" database (just a json file I update by hand), no email signups, no ads, no pop ups, no data collection (besides google analytics), and no comment section filled with highly polarized politics. A site updated only 1-2 times per week. It's just unique information in a simple and accessible format. The goal is for people to not check veryLA every day. I don't want…

    Please Review Our Project "1 Million Valentines"2013 · ▲5

For fun this Valentine's Day, a couple buddies and I decided to play around with the idea of digital Valentines. We cranked out the project in the month of January as a "nights & weekends" project. We'd love any feedback in general! Our next step is to figure a way to seed this in key communities, to see if it has any chance of taking off. The URL is www.1millionvalentines.com (or www.1MVS.com). Thanks!

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
