AI Tool to Simplify EU Regulatory Compliance (Solo Founder Journey)
Hi HN, I’m a solo founder, and I’ve been working on an AI tool that helps companies and organizations navigate and comply with EU regulations. The platform leverages AI to provide insights, research capabilities, and compliance assistance, aiming to reduce the complexity and time spent dealing with regulatory requirements. In plain words
This AI platform helps companies and small organizations comply with EU regulations by answering compliance questions, summarizing complex legislation, and linking to relevant legal articles. It targets SMEs and startups struggling with requirements like GDPR and labor laws. The tool aims to reduce the time and cost associated with navigating regulatory complexity by providing clear guidance and research capabilities through artificial intelligence.

Compliance with EU regulations (like GDPR, labor laws, and industry-specific rules) can be overwhelming, especially for SMEs and startups. As someone passionate about tech and legal simplification, I saw an opportunity to create a tool that streamlines this process, providing actionable guidance while cutting down costs. What the tool does: - Uses AI to answer EU regulatory questions. - Provides links to legislation articles, so that users can dig deeper when needed. - The tool condenses complex legislation into clear summaries, drastically reducing the time needed to understand key topics. As the only person behind this project, I wear multiple hats—coding, marketing, business development, and more. I’ve learned a lot, but I know there’s so much more to improve, particularly in product-market fit, user onboarding, and getting the word out. I'd love to hear from the HN community on a few topics in particular: - Product feedback: Does this solve a real problem for you or someone you know? - Marketing advice: What are the best ways to promote a niche AI tool like this? - Solo founder tips: For those who’ve been here, what’s your advice on staying productive and scaling effectively? I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or even criticisms. Also, if you’ve had experience dealing with EU regulations, does this tool sound useful? What features would you want to see? Here’s the link to the tool: https://eur-lex.ai/ Thank you, and I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback!

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
