Analytics and Ad Blocker (Mv3 Ad Blocker)
Hi All, I created my company: Globemallow.io. Browser extensions for reducing the carbon footprint of the internet. Globemallow calculates CO2 emitted and energy (kWh) usage on webpage load, and provides a personalized sustainable development report on how each page can become more efficient from a sustainable development perspective. An Internet Sustainability Grade is calculated for each webpage. While working on Globemallow, I realized that a significant portion of websites had larger load times due to an asinine amount of analytics (tracking) and advertising scripts executing on each…

What it does
Create a more sustainable internet by reducing your digital carbon footprint through the design and development of sustainable websites.
Globemallow is a powerful free tool enabling you to design and develop greener, more eco friendly webpages and reduce your digital footprint. Already have a green website? The internet accounts for 3.8% of global Co2 emissions and the percentage is rising. If the internet was a country it would be the 7th largest carbon producer. 5 billion people are using the internet every day, and the number is increasing. Visualizing website carbon footprints using steam and robotics [video]2024 · vimeo.com · ▲37We built a robotic plotter that creates ephemeral visualizations of website carbon footprints using water vapor on glass. It analyzes website energy data and translates it into misty patterns, making the invisible impact of digital infrastructure visible. Built during a residency at a cultural venue in Belgium. This works suprisingly well. Just give it instructions like "make it winter" or "remove the cars" and the photo is altered. Here are some examples of transformations it can make: Golden gate bridge: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/brycedrennan/imaginAIry/ma... The project is called QueryStorm. It uses Roslyn to offer C# (and VB.NET) support in Excel, as an alternative to VBA. I've posted about it before, but a lot has changed since then so figured I'd share an update. The current version includes a host of new features, namely a C# debugger, support for NuGet packages, and the ability to publish Excel extensions to an "AppStore" (which is essentially a NuGet repository). The AppStore can be used by anyone with the (free) runtime component. Another great addition is the community license, which is a free license for individuals and small companies…

Hey HN! Some more info: I’m an NHS doctor and the founder of Pi-A (https://www.pi-a.io) which developed Lungy (https://www.lungy.app). Lungy is an app (iOS only for now) that responds to breathing in real-time and was designed to make breathing exercises more engaging and beneficial to do. It hopefully has many aspects of interest to the HN community – real-time fluid, cloth and soft body sims running on the phone’s GPU. My background is as a junior surgical trainee and I started building Lungy in 2020 during the first COVID lockdown in London. During COVID, there were…
