ANTagony – The Ant Prisoner's Dilemma
Cooperate or betray — an AI partner remembers everything
What it does
Cooperate or betray — your partner remembers. I photographed ants for years. Then I wondered what it would feel like to be one. ANTagony is a roguelite built around a prisoner's dilemma. You're a worker ant. Your AI partner adapts, remembers, and turns against you if you deserve it. 4 variables. 50+ dilemmas. 25 endings. Every image: real macro photography. No assets. The game also remembers your past runs. Betrayals accumulate. So does trust. A systems experiment disguised as a narrative.

- ICI created a small 2D game about an antSep 2025 · aanthonymax.github.io · ▲89
Hello everyone! I created a short game in just a few days, just for fun, where you play as an ant and feed it apples This game also features random landscape generation, with clouds and trees arranged in a chaotic pattern across all coordinates. This is what took me the longest time :) I would appreciate your feedback ^ ^
- SPSwarm – Program a colony of 200 ants using a custom assembly languageMar 2026 · dev.moment.com · ▲190
We built an ant colony simulation as an internal hiring challenge at Moment and decided to open it up publicly. You write a program in a custom assembly-like (we call it ant-ssembly) instruction set that controls 200 ants. Each ant can sense nearby cells (food, pheromones, home, other ants) but has no global view. The only coordination mechanism is pheromone trails, which ants can emit and sense them, but that's it. Your program runs identically on every ant. The goal is to collect the highest percentage of food across a set of maps. Different map layouts (clustered food, scattered,…
- WPWe post-trained a model that pen tests instead of refusingJun 2026 · argusred.com · ▲93
Anthropic and OpenAI's publicly available models are explicitly guard-railed so that they refuse offensive tasks. And their cyber-focussed models are gated for enterprises. This leaves SMEs and mid market open to major vulnerabilities. AI can be used as both an adversarial and defensive tool in the world of cyber. A worst case outcome is if only the adversaries have access. Meanwhile, most existing AI cyber tools are just wrappers. The problem is that they still have all the guardrails on from the foundation model where they will inherit its refusals. For this project we've post-trained a…
- ZAZaranova – A game where you must pretend you are an AI2023 · zaranova.xyz · ▲65
Hi HN! The last couple of months I've been working on a game called Thus Spoke Zaranova. A game where you as a human must pose as an AI. You can try it now: https://zaranova.xyz The premise is that you are in a world of sentient AIs which are in conflict with humanity. They have a virtual space, The Nexus, which is their safe refuge from humans. You have infiltrated the Nexus and are in search of the ZetaMaster code, which will give the humanity the upper hand in their struggle against artificial sentience. My overarching goal is to understand how to best use generative AI in video…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
