BugHerd 3 months later
Some of you may recall some months ago we started building an app called BugHerd (http://bugherd.com). At the time we had no pricing, no real market strategy and were having a hard time pitching our concept. A lot of people didn't understand why on earth we'd build a bug tracker when there are dozens of great apps out there already...and really, it was a pretty good point! We're now finding that our greatest use case is a communication tool between technical and non-technical users. e.g. stakeholders, clients, managers. We're now finding that our greatest use case is a communication tool between technical and non-technical users. e.g. stakeholders, clients, managers. BugHerd is now crossing the divide between QA, Feedback and Bug tracking. We're still a bug tracker at heart, but now we've broadened our appeal to the entire team, not just developers. We'd love to get your feedback! (as a side note, we're currently A/B testing copy and trial options, so my apologies if you get some variation)

Hi HN, I'm the CEO at https://replay.io. We've been working on time travel debugging for web development for a while (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28539247) and more recently an AI app builder that uses that debugger to get past problems instead of spinning in circles (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43258585). We've gotten to where we can pretty easily build apps to replace business-critical SaaS tools, some of which we're now using internally: * We built our own issue tracker to keep track of all our development projects, tickets, bug…

Today I'm launching my project BugCam. It all started four years ago when I sent an email to the folks at Fog Creek Software, asking them to add a video capture tool, just like their screenshot tool, into FogBugz. Their response: that sounds awesome, why don't you build it! Well, here we are. We've been in private beta for 3 months, have some happy users, and we're ready to release BugCam to the world today! BugCam makes it easy to create bug videos and share them via your favorite bug tracking tool (at this point, Bugzilla, FogBugz, Gemini, JIRA, Redmine, Mantis, and Trac. Additional…

I've been a longtime member @ HN, but I haven't been a developer. In fact, my only HN submission has been one asking how to learn to code (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=820741). My cofounder and I decided to solve the problem by making a simple, interactive way to get started with Codecademy. We'd love your feedback. If you're interested in helping us to get more courses up (on any topic!), please send us an email at [email protected].
