In plain words
Camel Mono is a monospace font designed to improve readability of camelCase code. It distinguishes between uppercase and lowercase letters within words, making it easier to identify word boundaries in camelCase variable names and functions. The font is intended for developers and programmers who work with code regularly. It is available on GitHub.

Motivation - after watching a Syntax epsiode where they discussed snake_case being easier to read than camelCase (see relevant study ). I wondered if there was a way to improve the legibility for camelCase . Camel Mono is the result of that thought experiment. It is a derivative of Commit Mono that adds subtle gaps at camelCase word boundaries, so getUserName reads more like get User Name . You get the visual clarity of snake_case without changing the code. Column alignment stays monospace: glyphs shift inside their fixed-width cells using GSUB contextual substitution, pre-shifted alternate glyphs are selected at each boundary. Pre-built fonts are in fonts/ . Install the .otf files on your…from github.com

MonoLisa2020 · monolisa.dev · ▲197Originally we (Andrey, Marcus, Juho) built MonoLisa in 2020 as we realised there's room for a better monospaced typeface for developers. The key insight was to make the glyphs slightly wider to make more room for design to make letters like m feel less cramped. Since then we've released a variable v2 (2022) and now we're happy to expand the typeface with a new family called MonoLisa Text. The reasoning was to cover *other* use cases beyond coding with this proportional font. We hope you give Monolisa a go as there's a free trial to try. We also welcome feedback!

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
