ClaudeFilePrep – I was tired of dragging files into Claude –> automated

I built a Python tool that recursively collects files from nested project directories and prepares them for Claude AI analysis. It can either preserve directory structure or flatten everything with path-encoded filenames. No dependencies, just stdlib. Particularly useful if you're working with multiple files scattered across different folders and tired of constant drag-and-drop.

In plain words

ClaudeFilePrep is a Python tool that automatically collects files from nested project directories and formats them for Claude AI analysis. It works without external dependencies and offers two modes: preserving the original directory structure or flattening files with encoded paths. The tool is designed for developers who frequently work with multiple scattered files across different folders and want to eliminate repetitive drag-and-drop operations when uploading to Claude.

A powerful Python utility that recursively collects files from nested directories, making it easier to prepare data for AI projects, especially for tools like Claude that require manual file uploads. When working with AI tools like Claude, you often need to upload multiple files for analysis. However, these files might be scattered across different folders and subfolders in your project structure. Manually navigating through directories and uploading files one by one is time-consuming and prone to errors. # Clone the repository git clone https://github.com/yourusername/file-collector.git # Navigate to the directory cd file-collector # No additional dependencies required - uses Python…from github.com

Hey HN! Previous CERN physicist turned hacker here. We've developed a way to make AI coding actually work by systematically identifying and fixing places where LLMs typically fail in full-stack development. Today we're launching as Lovable (previously gptengineer.app) since it's such a big change. The problem? AI writing code typically make small mistakes and then get stuck. Those who tried know the frustration. We fixed most of this by mapping out where LLMs fail in full-stack dev and engineering around those pitfalls with prompt chains. Thanks to this, in all comparisons I found with: v0,…

  • I wasn't quite sure if this qualified as "Show HN" given you can't really download it and try it out. However, dang said[0]: > If it's hardware or something that's not so easy to try out over the internet, find a different way to show how it actually works—a video, for example, or a detailed post with photos. Hopefully I did that? Additionally, I've put code and a detailed guide for the netboot computer management setup on GitHub: https://github.com/kentonv/lanparty Anyway, if this shouldn't have been Show HN, I apologize!
