Open Models with Switchable Reasoning Mode

Cogito launched on April 15, 2025 with 15 votes, #1,637 of 7,818 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Cogito from Deep Cogito are the open models (3B-70B) with switchable reasoning. Trained via Iterated Distillation & Amplification (IDA), outperforming class benchmarks. Llama Community License.

A path to general superintelligence using IDA

You can download the models on Huggingface or Ollama , or use them directly through the API on Fireworks AI or Together AI . AlphaGo, followed by many other game-playing AIs, demonstrated that AI systems can achieve superhuman performance in narrow domains. When we study these superintelligent systems, we find two key ingredients enabled this breakthrough: Recent research in LLMs has made significant progress in reasoning capabilities. However, current LLM training paradigms inherently limit intelligence to the capabilities of their overseers: Although improved reasoning alone may bring us closer to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), achieving general superintelligence requires…from deepcogito.com

  • Cogitator – A Python Toolkit for Chain-of-Thought Prompting2025 · github.com · ▲54

Hi everyone, I made an open-source Python toolkit/library, named Cogitator, to make it easier to try and use different chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning methods. The project is at the beta stage, but it supports using models provided by OpenAI and Ollama. It includes implementations for Cot strategies and frameworks like Self-Consistency, Tree of Thoughts, and Graph of Thoughts. GitHub link of the project: https://github.com/habedi/cogitator

Most benchmarks today exist in curated environments and do not translate well to the real world. We built Oqoqo to bridge this gap. Oqoqo makes it super simple to build realistic evals and custom benchmarks for tasks users actually care about. Oqoqo can: - Reliably measure how agent friendly your product surfaces are against Codex, Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes, Pi, Opencode, Cursor, GitHub Copilot - Regression test MCP, CLI, skills, SDK, and any agent facing interface (we are continuously using Oqoqo to dogfood and improve our own MCP/CLI) - Create and share custom benchmarks for how…

  • Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
