Constellation is the first always-encrypted Kubernetes. Constellation shields entire Kubernetes clusters from the (cloud) infrastructure using confidential computing.

  Hey HN, my colleagues and I have been working on Constellation for 1.5+ years. We open sourced it today under AGPLv3. It's a standalone Kubernetes engine/distribution that operations-wise is very much vanilla K8s (v1.24). Security-wise, it comes with some new concepts: It's designed to shield K8s clusters as a whole from the cloud. The goal is that not even the cloud provider and its employees can access any data in a cluster.   I made a thing! In 2014, I was holding a stack of iPhones and thought to myself: "Hey, if I had each phone display a playing card, I could click a button and they'd shuffle themselves" I pared that idea all the way down to this: trading cards made of e-ink displays. Right now, each card costs me about $20 each, but with only a bit more scale, I think I can get that down to $10. In doing this project, I learned how to design electronics and circuit boards.
