Contagious Beliefs–Simulating Political Alignment

This is a simulation that allows you to test how beliefs are adopted based on pre-existing beliefs and how they spread through a population. It is entirely editable, so you can test your own parameters based on your own data or intuitions. In plain words

Contagious Beliefs is a simulation tool that models how beliefs spread through populations based on pre-existing viewpoints and social dynamics. Users can adjust parameters to test different scenarios using their own data or assumptions, making it useful for researchers, analysts, and anyone interested in understanding political and social alignment patterns. The tool is fully customizable, allowing experimentation with various conditions to see how beliefs propagate across different population structures.

Exploring how beliefs spread and the emergence of unexpected correlations in political clusters.

Humans are social animals, and as such we are influenced by the beliefs of those around us. This simulation explores how beliefs can spread through a population, and how indirect relationships between beliefs can lead to unexpected correlations. There are some strange ideological bed-fellows that emerge in the realm of human beliefs. Social scientists grapple with the strong correlation between Christianity and gun ownership when the "Prince of Peace" lived in a world without guns. Similarly there are other correlations between atheism and globalisation or pro-regulation leftists who are also pro-choice, and then we have the anti-vax movement infiltrating both the far-left and far-right of…from nonzerosum.games

Psychology research is currently facing a crisis: A significant amount of published studies cannot be reliably reproduced. Yet these studies will still be used in news headlines, and treated as fact. Research into social media has not been immune to this either, with the problem exacerbated by study designs that don’t match the real world. We built the Misinformation Game to aid in this problem. Our tool allows researchers to design social-media studies that look and feel like social media, while also making sure that each participant has a similar experience. This is really important for…

Simulate anything on a map from a text prompt -- and conduct risk analysis against LiveUA map's global realtime data points from social media and news sources. I trained a GPT-2-size model on historical incident data used to predict things that will go wrong. As historian Benjamin Breen mentions, the leading language models are good historians, so the application will simulate historical events pretty well also. I include a Multi-Agent RL Urban Mobility model in progress displayed on the map as small white cubes representing traffic and pedestrians. Around SF, it uses real census data and…
