Context Grip

Web tool to slice codebase clutter & save 50%+ on LLM tokens

Visit polar.shAlternativestop 15% of June 2026

What it does

Stop wasting your LLM token budget on bloated, raw codebase text. ContextGrip is an interactive, 100% private web tool that lets you drag & drop folders to natively parse code using AST. It surgically slices out implementation clutter while fully preserving structural interfaces and function signatures. Prevent AI hallucinations, deliver the precise context your models actually need, shrink prompt payloads by 50%+, and slash your LLM API bills—completely locally on your device.

I am working on a modular open source framework called Griptape that allows Python developers to create LLM pipelines and DAGs for complex workflows that use rules and memory. Griptape can be thought of as "Airflow for LLMs," providing an alternative to the agent-based LangChain approach. Developers can also build reusable LLM tools with explicit JSON schemas that can be executed in any environment (local, containerized, cloud, etc.) and integrated into Griptape workflows. They can also be easily converted into ChatGPT Plugin APIs and LangChain tools via adapters. Tools can be thought of as…

    Git for LLMs – A context management interfaceOct 2025 · twigg.ai · ▲106

Hi HN, we’re Jamie and Matti, co-founders of Twigg. During our master’s we continually found the same pain points cropping up when using LLMs. The linear nature of typical LLMs interfaces - like ChatGPT and Claude - made it really easy to get lost without any easy way to visualise or navigate your project. Worst of all, none of them are well suited for long term projects. We found ourselves spending days using the same chat, only for it to eventually break. Transferring context from one chat to another is also cumbersome. We decided to build something more intuitive to the ways humans think.…

I've been presenting at local meetups about Context Engineering, RAG, Skills, etc.. I even have a vbrownbag coming up on LinkedIn about this topic so I figured I would make a basic example that uses bedrock so I can use it in my talks or vbrownbags. Hopefully it's useful.

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
