What it does
Correlated uncovers surprising connections between seemingly unrelated things, and you can help by answering the weekly poll. At the end of the week, we'll tally up all the poll responses and compare the results to all of the previous polls. Check back to see which answers have the strongest correlation. I would like to get, or I have gotten, laser hair removal treatments. "Pretty much the best website ever." Facebook analytics manager Alex Bain In general, 35 percent of people say they are fastidious about locking the bathroom door. During the start of the year I was thinking how could I bet against certain stocks (in my case mainly Tesla) without using derivatives and the risks that come with them. After I had success betting on the oil price with a highly correlated investment fond, I came to the conclusion that negative correlations could be used to bet against the price of other assets. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find correlations between assets if you don't know which assets to compare in the first place. So I created a website where you can find the 10 highest and 10 lowest correlations of certain assets.

Fast vector similarity using Rust and Python2023 · github.com · ▲141I recently found myself computing the similarity between lots of very high dimensional vectors (i.e., sentence embedding vectors from LLMs), and I wanted to try some more powerful measures of similarity/dependency than just Cosine similarity, which seems to be the default for everything nowadays because of its computational efficiency. There are many other more involved measures that can detect more subtle relationships, but the problem is that some of them are quite slow to compute, especially if you're trying to do it in Python. For my favorite measure of statistical dependency,…

My buddy paulsingh and I have been working on this for a few weeks, got something up and running and wanted to show you. The problem we're solving: When you need customer service (your flight got canceled, strange fees on your bill, etc) you just want to talk to a real person. Waiting on hold wastes your time AND your concentration; you can't be coding in the zone when part of your brain is waiting for an operator. Our solution: We wanted to make it "one click" to reach a real person. How it works: You click on who you want to talk to (even a specific department, like the billing dept at…

I recently decided to try out Google Tasks as my only task management system, and while I find some things about the interface great, it really isn't suited for someone like me who has multiple lists with lots of elements on each. So, I whipped this together real fast and I can't imagine using Google Tasks without it anymore. I realized you might want it too, so I put it on the web. Enjoy :)
