What it does

Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) with a single curl command — no OpenSSL installs, no config files, no signup, no API key. The CSR and private key are returned as JSON. Open-source and MIT-licensed, with example scripts in curl, Bash, Python, and JavaScript. Free with a per-IP rate limit. The same domain also hosts a CSR decoder, SSL check, and certificate expiry monitor. Never fight openssl req flags or a misformatted -subj value again.

  Back in 2012 I built https://cert-depot.com as a weekend project. Node.js + Express + jQuery, shelling out to OpenSSL for certificate generation.   I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano.
