Cute Magick

Hi! I built Cute Magick because I wanted the simplicity & power of early web dev, but not the fragility. It's an open source, self-hostable web host where your sites are plain folders of real code — HTML, PHP, Python, Node, Lua, SQL — and every file save creates a snapshot you can preview and rewind in one click. No build steps, no abstractions. (Literally -- these are per-request runtimes). Cute Magick launched on August 28, 2025 with 7 votes, #3,174 of 8,530 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Starter web hosting that’s actually yours. Upload your code, make pages how you like & publish at your web address. No ads. No themes or plugins. Real power.

Self-host websites with infinite undo. Contribute to pinkhairs/cutemagick development by creating an account on GitHub.

Cute Magick is a self-hosted, Git-backed website environment with built-in infinite undo . It's for people who want to build real websites—but don't want to fight platforms, config, and SaaS billing just to experiment, learn, or keep infinite projects alive. You get a real server, real files, real URLs, and the ability to rewind your site's entire history at any time. 📚 Full documentation: https://pixelswithin.notion.site/Cute-Magick-Docs-2fdb91326d968024b11cc40c73a18e90 Cute Magick is open source. You can run it anywhere Docker runs. It does not phone home and does not require any external service to function. docker run -p 3000:3000 -v $( pwd ) /cutemagick:/app/data…from github.com

I'm Rufus, one of the founders of Flowershow. We love markdown and use it everywhere from making websites, to docs, to knowledgebases. Plus AI splits it everywhere now. Got tired of the framework/config/deploy overhead every time we wanted to share a file or put a site online. So we built the thing we wanted. Files in. Website out. "Vercel for Content" is our aspiration - make deploying (markdown) content as fast, seamless and easy as Vercel did for JS. Command line plus you can connect to github repos, use Obsidian via plugin, or drag and drop files. npm i -g…

Hi HN! I’m the creator of Gridfy. I built it because I was frustrated with what I call the "No-Code Tax." Whenever I wanted to publish structured data from Airtable or Notion, I felt trapped between two bad options: spending hours writing custom frontend code, or paying for expensive subscriptions like Softr or Airtable’s premium embeds. Most of these platforms get pricey fast and the customization is often too limited to match a professional brand. I wanted something in the middle: the speed of no-code but with the flexibility of a custom component. With Gridfy, you connect your data source…

  • Sparktype – a CMS and SSG that runs entirely in the browserNov 2025 · app.sparktype.org · ▲48

Hi HN, After trying to teach a non-technical friend how to manage a Jekyll site I decided there must be a way to make building a site with a SSG easier. Options like Decap, Contentful etc. do make it a bit easier but still take lots of tech knowledge to set up. So I built Sparktype, a browser-based CMS that outputs statically-generated HTML and CSS. My goal is for it to be as easy to use as Substack or Medium, while providing all the benefits of a static site generator including openness, simplicity, speed, security and ownership. It handles most things that you'd need from a CMS, including…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
