Dartcula Theme for VS Code

VS Code theme inspired by IntelliJ's Darcula theme

Dartcula Theme for VS Code launched on January 19, 2022 with 65 votes, #830 of 2,891 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 4 years on.

What it does

A modern color scheme for VS Code: - Inspired by IntelliJ IDEs default Darcula theme. - An eye-catching color-combination: 🟢🟡🟠🟣. - Complete syntax highlighting support for Dart/Flutter, as well as HTML/CSS/JS.

Extension for Visual Studio Code - A Darcula theme, with complete syntax highlighting for Dart and Flutter. Inspired by Intellij IDEA's default theme.

So, this is simply an attempt to replicate the Darcula theme from Jetbrains IDEs, and at the same time support nice syntax highlighting for Dart and Flutter . There is also syntax highlighting support for HTML, CSS, JS, and Java files. This theme includes a Basic and a Pure version. They both have the exact same syntax highlighting properties. The Pure version additionally replicates the color scheme of IntelliJ editors' interface , e.g. the color of the sidebar, the terminal, the tabs, and so on: This is a work in progress, so feel free to open an issue and provide yourfrom marketplace.visualstudio.com

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • History: Last year I had to replace the tire on my bike, and I was surprised how difficult it was to find a suitable new tire. There were a lot of numbers written on the casing, so I googled what they meant. In the end I was successful, but I didn't want to do the same work again for the next bike after I've forgotten the details. So I wrote this website. Technically, the web page is kept very simple, no frameworks, no templates, no website builder. It uses HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and it privides a responsive layout for mobile usage. I'm happy to receive feedback. If you have tried the…
